I've had a pair of Nike Zooms (Women's) that I received as a gift for Christmas 2018. One of the shoes started to smell with a fishy chemical odor so badly that I had to bag it up. There is absolutely no wear and tear as I don't wear them often, and nothing has been spilled on them. I then tried to wash the shoe in cold water but the smell was still just as strong. I then washed it in hot water and laundry soap, which has made the smell even worse and brought out a yellowish color on part of the shoe and the laces where they come out of the shoe. This, to me, proves that it is definitely a chemical in the shoe materials, or it would have dissipated even a little. Sad part is these shoes can't even be donated because of the smell. It is convulsingly strong and offensive. Nike won't consider looking at them since they were watched. I was a Nike fan till now - lesson learned.
