My family has been absolutely taken advantage of by the Ntta. They are charging us $10, 000 dollars to settle for unpaid tolls. The original price was $50,000. We ran 181 tolls to acumulative that outrageous number. We never got any bills until we moved into our home. Where they notified us that we owed a whopping 50k. They then blocked our registration due to this unsolved issue. The manager would not speak with us unless we paid $200. When we paid they were very unhelpful and unwilling to help their so called "customers." They then bullied us to sign an agreement to pay for our tolls. They told us they would send our mother to jail (her name is on the title) and then impound our car Unless we settled with them in a week. We were scared, so we settled for a payment plan. But first, we had to pay $500 to set it up. We now pay a law firm in Chicago called Arnold Harris law firm. They are very unprofessional and have absolutely no clue about our debt with the toll way. They tell us that we need to speak to the NTTA. and when we speak to the toll way they shoo us right back to the law firm. No one knows anything about our ridiculous inflation of tolls and no one is willing to help. It's like they are the mafia. They have paid there way into government and passed unlawful bills in order to create a revenue through over charging people who have used there toll roads. We have no problem paying back what we owe to them. But charging us $55 dollars a toll is not only outrageous... it should be illegal.
