Omnilotus

Based on what the previous review wrote, I experienced the exact same thing. Turned up at the place and saw Source Marketing logo inside the office, immediately I thought that this was yet another one of those jobs where you work for free for a day. Job description stated they would train you in 5 different areas, but when I turned up they said I would be doing sales. Called to tell me to come in next day to experience business to business sales i.e- giving out credit card to locals but I never turned up. Glad I read this review before going in for the "open day".

Scam

I'm writing this complaint to warn others not to face what I faced. I applied for a job with Omnilotus , a day or two later I got an email asking me to call them to book an interview- I ignored it, I don't need to call an employer- they should know if they want me. Then the next day I received a phone call.l. Now on the phone they really complimented me and offered me an interview for the next day.

Great. I was happy. So I researched the company website and saw the generic photos of people 'doing business' but dismissed it as it was a new company and I thought it was a subsidiary of a parent company. Alarm bells started ringing when I saw the money that passed through the company (available on company check website), a mere 50k, was not enough to pay 3 employees for a year.

However, I thought they must be growing and expanding at the expense of another parent company and so it could still work.

When I turned up to the interview I was surprised that it was a different name altogether on the door, 'Source Direct Marketing', alarm bells started ringing and as I waited for my interview with 7 others I became more and more suspicious, but the nice-looking office and Waterloo location dispelled some suspicion.

When I went in, I was subjected to how brilliant I was and a glass ceiling. Great. The guy then went on to write on my CV about the amazing progression opportunities- I should've smelt something was up but I didn't google 'Source direct marketing SCAM' like i should've and there seems not to be much up about OMNILOTUS which is why I'm writing this.

The rest is pretty self-explanatory after a weird 20 minutes in which I didn't get any opportunity to ask about the company, which is really weird because usually an employer wants to see that you are interested, I went home and received a call, ON THE JOURNEY, that I had got a call-back for an 'open day' tomorrow. I also received an email from TAMMY again congratulating me. Hmmm an email describing the very vague open day when they haven't even asked about my NI or passport or anything.

Essentially i told my brother about it and he had been through the same thing a few years back. I then googled source direct marketing and when i read the reviews everything that had happened to those people happened to me so I was thankful I read it. Thankfully, I only wasted a few hours on a Tuesday and didn't spend a 10 hour open day with them the next day.

I've written this as soon as I realized so others are aware and don't waste a few days making these guys rich.

From what I've guaged from other pages: The scam is they get people to sell products on a 100% commission basis, so it seems like they churn out these 'fake' open days constantly to get free labour so the guys who interview you get paid to sell products and then they manage to get you to sell them for free. What a smart-ass loophole- They've clearly been doing it for years.
