Refuse to refund a cancelled trip
I reserved two tickets with Orbitz on Feb 26, 1:26 pm but immediately cancelled when I realized that the price was in US funds. I pressed the cancel button 10 min. after my purchase and a red message came on screen saying that my trip had successfully been cancelled. Two hours later, I received an E-mail confirming my purchase. The friend whose computer I had been using thought it a good idea to re-cancel to make sure. He also recancelled a third time. Unfortunately, Orbitz sent us a confirmation of the cancellation but two days later saying that my credit card had been charged because I had cancelled after the 18 hours allowed. They say that their letter of confirmation is proof of when I cancelled. We had tried to print the the page of the site saying I had cancelled but the site did not permit it. It's almost as if the site is created to make it difficult to have proof of our cancellation. They refuse to believe that I pressed on the cancel button 10 min. after my purchase and at least two more times after that. Meanwhile, the very next day, thinking that I had cancelled my trip with orbitz, I purchased the same trip with a company in Canada. Now, I have to pay two trips but have only one set of tickets.
