I was shipped a tv purchased through amazon but sold by Paul's TV. The shipping company was AIT. The delivery arrived, and I helped the delivery man carry the large 65 inch tv into my home. (Not sure why only one man was sent to deliver such a large item. How would he have got the tv in my house if I was unable to lift the 100+ pound tv?). I helped take off the very large top box which slides over the tv. We both unwrapped the tv. I stood back and looked at the tv screen to check if it was damaged. I did not see any damage, so I signed the delivery papers and he was on his way.
I returned home that evening after work excited that I finally had a new tv. The tv in our home now was purchased 7 years ago and is a large projection tv. I turned on our large overhead light in the kitchen and kneeled down by the tv. I was going to take out the small items that are packaged around the bottom of the tv...remote, instruction manual ect. It was not until then did I notice that there was a crack in the screen. This was not visible from the front of the tv. From the front the screen looks perfect. However from a certain angle I was able to see the screen had a crack.
I started to freak out and called Pauls TV immediately. I was told I would need to take pictures of the tv, the box it was shipped, and email it to them. I called them daily, as well as email. I expressed that I would like a replacement. I then received a email from Paul's TV stating they could do nothing for me. Because I signed the papers at delivery stating the tv was not damaged.
So here I am with a 1800 dollar plasma tv that has a crack in the screen. I do not know if the tv will turn on, as it is still in the same box which it came. This cannot be the way companies treat consumers can it? Paul's tv loves to promote that you get "Royal Treatment" customer service. However when it comes down to it they are more than happy to let me pay for a cracked plasma tv I received upon arrival. Basically what I'm paying for is a 5 foot box that sits in my living room.
I cannot begin to express the stress and sadness I have endured through my dealing with Pauls TV. I hope those who read this think twice before buying from them.
