I am 53 and have lived with the results of tetracycline ruining my teeth and personal life. This in itself has completely destroyed any self confidence I should have had. It has been a life of covered smiles and embarrassing questions or remarks about my gray or rotten teeth. I have heard it all and I do not know what it is like to openly smile or laugh due to the quick double takes and stares I have encountered since my early childhood. I learned early on to cover my mouth to hide my grotesque teeth so I wouldn't draw the attention of bullies and the disgusted looks from the opposite sex. It still hurts to think of the whispers I heard behind my back about my teeth in high school and college. We should be compensated for the psychological damage this has caused all of us because I know there are many who have dealt with this same trauma.
