I was living in student housing, working toward a Master's degree. I had a series of fluke health issues, and I've been in the hospital 3 times between January and April, and in two rehab centers. I let my professors and RA know where I was, but housing decided I had abandoned my apt, since I had to withdraw during 2 consecutive quarters. They also said my garbage stank. I'm sure it did-- I wasn't there. While I was gone, their employees game in and bagged up everything I owned, mixing garbage with clothes out of the closet. In the process, they stole over $3,000 worth of my possessions. They say they are not responsible for my 'missing' items.

Do not trust housing at PSU. Anyone can get sick, even if you are young. I had to deal with this while I was in and out of the hospital, and they were threatening to throw my things away and put me out on the street. I will be suing them, but I wouldn't expect them to treat you any better. I've heard horrible things about housing, including that they locked a student in his room because they thought they had the right to.
