Despite submitting my UIF form on time I have been told by the Randburg Labour Centre that my application for UIF was not approved even though I have been making UIF contributions my entire work career. I was retrenched at the end of January 2014 and well within the 6 months for submitting a claim towards UIF. I first applied in May 2014. I alerted the Randburg Office to this and they said the matter will be investigated but until today I have not had the matter resolved. I submitted all the necessary forms which were accepted by the official and it seems that an error on their part continues to go unrectified.

As far as I know this is my right especially considering I have been paying UIF all along and now when the time comes, a government employee's errors are causing this situation where I am unable to claim for something I am legally and constitutionally have a right to claim.

At this point, I am at a loss of what to do.
