No problems

Joe Ayala at Rent A Center is the store manager in Reading PA. We went through rough times the past couple months, financially, and Joe was patient, understanding...And he also helped us get back until we can get back on our feet. (Not pushy) I recommend Rent A Center. We have rented from RAC for a few years and everyone in the store has been awesome. Any business who does not receive their money, especially in this type of business, must pick up merchandise. So before anyone gets 'pissed" call the store, they work with you.

thats BS. All they do is harass you and your neighbors and flood peoples house like mine.

That may be there but in Chillicothe they treat you like S**t. They flooded my newly built home when they didn't hook up my washer right. It flooded my laundry room, dining room, kitchen, and my masterbath. They told us not to worry about paying for the washer and dryer and now they are calling up to 10x a day and banging on our doors and they have dented them. They have also banged and left information on our new neighbors doors. They are a nothing but harassers and don't care about their customers.

Awful experience

I rented a playstation 3 from Rent a center. IT was for 63 weeks at like 33.00 a week or so. I lost my job at about at about payment 38. I was going to give them their ps3 cause i couldn't afford it. They started there strong arm and talking tough collection practices. I decided to file a chapter 13 bankruptcy since i was falling behind on everything else. My father is a practicing bankruptcy law for over 30 yrs and he filed on my behalf. Rac was listed as a creditor. They come to my house when my 1 yr old son is sleeping and start knocking so hard knocking pics of the wall and ringing my door bell consistently. I have had enough of this crap from them and confronted them on my front porch. The one manager there starting cussing out my wife which is not going to fly then start cussing at me. I told him he needs to contact my bankruptcy lawyer and that he is in violation of the automatic stay and they we are calling the cops cause you refuse to leave. He tells us are bk lawyer is wrong that you cant file bk on us. He continued on saying how he has worked at rac for 8 yrs and know the laws but he didn't know what a automatic stay was nice one. he continued on saying how he was going to take me to court etc. The cops finally did arrive and made them leave after blocking our driveway. I cant believe that someone that has a high school diploma to get hired at rac would have more knowledge than someone with a law degree and been a practicing attorney since 1973. My lawyer did file a lawsuit against rac. I did win against them and the judge said that the state of Missouri considers this a 'executor contract' and can be eliminated during bankruptcy. I got to keep my items and Rac was to pay 6k into my bankruptcy to disperse between my creditors. I later found out the manager got fired. These bozos bark is bigger than there bite it might cost you a ittle money but it was worth every bit to punch them right back in the mouth. DON'T BE SCARED OF THEM.

Horrible Buisness

I have delt with rent a center for the past few years, the first time I went their I rent to own a 32 inch toshiba flat screen. I had it to for two years it was a good tv and I always paid, yes their were times I was late but, I always paid. I understand that if you are late, they have every right contact you but, the way the contacted me was beyound unprofessional.

I was called about 10 times a day, my references were called up to 10 times a day, my work was called up to 10 times a day, they even showed up at my work. After that happened, I told them they were not allowed at my work. I always contacted back and told them when I would be and they never listened. Okay well let me finish with this I was close to paying it off the lady said I owed on 160 left. I was super stoaked I paid 70 one week and then two weeks later I tried to go in on monday and pay the rest they told me that they could not except the payment and took the tv from me. They added I am not lying about this 300 dollars to the end. I was sp pissed off, they even refused me to as a return customer. Then months went by and I wanted a upgrade I got a coupon in the mail so I go in and they even let me credit all that money to upgrade on the tv I was like I will give them another chance. Oh was i even more wrong then ever this time. I started being on time for quite a while then slipped again, I know it was my fault but I contacted them everytime I was going to except a payment.

Well I come home to sorry we missed you all over my door. I contacted them asking what this was about, let me tell you. They know my work schedule and I let them know when I was home or not but, they stilll came to my door when they knew clearly know was home. My neighbors said that they bangedd and even tried kicking in my door a few times. They said my dogs went nuts and the men were screaming it rent a center. They kept up with two weeks with this. I gave them their merchandise I know once shame on you twice shame on me. I tell you SHAME ON ME. I know I had money stolen from me because they are rip offs. I will never do buisness with this company again. THey are so unprofessional, they lie, they say way to much in apporiate things, then when I report it to the manager, then they deny it. I have read nothing but reports the same as mine. It is a sad deal, I cant believe any company would even imagine running a business like this.
