In May 2012,me together with 7 others was unfairly dismissed by the company above(Royale Energy) and I was contributing for UIF.It took the company about one year to give me the completed UIF forms and when I got them went to the Department of Labour in Germiston to claim my UIF.I did the whole procedure also provided banking details,including reporting to their offices as was required by law.When I was reporting for the last time before I could get the money,I was told by the Germiston office that I took one year to come forward to claim and my claim was resultantly cancelled.I told them I couldnt apply without the completed forms from the company and when I got them I came to submit but they remained adamant that the claim had been cancelled.
My question to the department is,since 2012 I have tried invein to get employment but failed,I am suffering but they are holding moneys that I contributed.I am not looking for a loan here.I almost lost my house,my child that was going to vasity had to dropout due to lack of finance,l also lost my cars in the event.I am not saying my claim for UIF could have prevented me from loosing what I lost but could have assisted hugely in my financial problems.
I hope someone will followup this and let me know whats happening.
