Today I wanted to buy 2 packets of cold meat, the price on the display showed 5.00 , this price was prominently displayed. When I went to pay for the product the price was 5.95. When I queried this I was told that the lower price was for reward customers only.

I think this is very misleading and I was not impressed. It is not mandatory to become a rewards member as far as I know, so if Safeway is only offering lower prices to reward members only I will be shopping at another company who do not discriminate.

I have shopped with Safeway for the last 25 years and this is the first time I have been disappointed with the service. I will also be alerting my friends and colleagues to be on the look out when shopping at Safeway of this practice
