PHARMACY

On Wednesday 1/17/18 I dropped off my hard script that I have just received from my Dr that morning. I have been using this pharmacy on Pacific Ave in Stockton for approx. 5 years monthly. I called at 3pm as I was told to when I dropped it off and I was told by a woman "my Rx, Xanax 0.5mg, would not be filled at this time". I asked why and the lady began to elevate her voice and in an agitated tone stated "because its not due yet". I attempted to explain that due to my recent stay at an inpatient hospital for severe depression and anxiety I had been using more that usual of my Xanax, especially for nighttime. And that my Dr had been previously authorizing "early refills". However after my morning appt we decided on a new regiman which would be Xanax 0.5mg BID PRN and Trazodone 50mg PO QHS. He was aware I was yet again out of my Xanax so he wrote a hard copy new order and verbally told me I would not be getting early refills anymore and that the trazodone should help me with night anxiety and difficulty sleeping. He also hand wrote on the hard script "no early refills". When I tried to explain this to the woman on the phone in the pharmacy, she loudly stated "it says no early refills" in a very condescending voice. I again tried to explain this again to no avail. I then asked what I was to do? I was told to call my Dr because they would not fill it. I called my Dr who expressed deepest sympathies for this situation and told me they would call the pharmacy immediately and get the order straightened out. However even after my Dr called the pharmacy, the pharmacy still stated they refused to fill it despite my Dr explaining the situation. I was told to pick up my script. When I did it has a brightly colored note taped to it stating "will not refill". My dr has advised me to file a complaint with the California Board of Pharmacies which I have. I am appalled by this lack of customer service and what I feel is discrimination. I have god health insurance. I work for the state of California. This is completely unacceptable and I would like to know why this is allowed to be done?
