On line layaway
I put a light house outdoor fountain on lay a way online. I always use the Fairfield, Ca. Store as my store of choice. At the time of the layaway, it listed the product as limited it did not list a pick up store.
Sometime, after my third and next to final payment, I was notified online that I had to pick up the fountain in San Bruno, Ca. San Bruno is over an hour's drive from my home in Vallejo, Ca.
I am disabled due to a stroke. I called the San Bruno store but I think the phone service is outsourced . The first young women told me to call the online order number and transferred me.
I talked to three people, before being transferred to a "manager". I explained the situation four times to four different people who put me on hold for at. Least 10 to 15 minutes while "researching" my problem . I was rudely told that I could not pickup the item in Fairfield, because I ordered it from the San Bruno store.
When I called back to make sure my item would be available for someone to pick it up for me, the young man told me he could not find the order in the computer, put me on hold, asked for my phone number, put me on hold, miraculously found the order and verified it was still on layaway.
It was obvious that being put on hold several times was done on purpose, but what could I do about it?
Sear' s poor customer is helping them on the way to extinction. IN the meantime all I want is my outdoor fountain that I faithfully paid for without going halfway around the bay area to pick it up.
