Broken Refrigerator in 22 Days

I bought a brand new refrigerator on August 27th, online through Sears.com. Sears has been my go to for YEARS! I received the refrigerator 09/17/21 and it quit working 23 days later on 10/10/2021. I AM STILL WITHOUT A WORKING REFRIGERATOR 46 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE. I paid in full online for the refrigerator or I would have stopped payments by now and gone somewhere else. Here is a small timeline: • 08/27/2021 – Ordered refrigerator online at Sears.com. Order # 910057802 • 09/17/2021 – Refrigerator Delivered • 10/10/2021 – Came home to refrigerator not working and all food thawed out and ruined. • 10/10/2021 – Contacted Sears for replacement and they wanted to send a technician to look at the refrigerator. I was within 30 day return period. • 10/12/2021 – Took off work for appt. Technician showed up and said he had never seen one break this soon. He said he felt I needed a replacement but he would order the part just in case. He stated the part would be 2 weeks. • 10/13/2021 – reached out to Sears FB Msg to see how to expedite this situation that I was without a refrigerator. They stated they would rush the part to my house. At this time I figured that was my only option. • 10/15/2021 – Part arrived and I called Sears repair. They scheduled me for the 19th. • 10/19/2021 – Took of work for appt. Appt time was 10-2PM. I started checking at 2:00 on tech and was told he would be late and given time of 2:20PM, then 2:36, then 3:23, then 4:21. Contacted the chat line for service and was told they would contact dispatch and I would receive a call. Well at 7:40 PM I never received a call or service technician and then received a text stating my appt had been moved to 10/21/2021 from 8-12 PM. • 10/20/2021 – Called Sears to move my appt because I could not take off with that short of notice. Took off Monday the 25th and made appt for then. • 10/25/2021 – New tech arrives and looks at refrigerator and informs me that the part ordered was incorrect and did not fit refrigerator. Said no Freon was ordered, which he would have to have if he were to replace a compressor. He asked why I had not filed for a replacement since it quit working within 30 days, which is Sears Guarantee. I told him I did but they wanted a tech to look at it. • He sat on phone with me and explained to them that the unit should be replaced and that he can’t even find the correct part for this refrigerator. • The replacement department filed a claim on 10/25/2021 at 3:30 PM (Case #64503661) and I would hear from the department within 24-48 hours. • 10/27/2021 – Called repair and replacement department because I have not heard from anyone and they tell me that they will place a case for me, I explained I already have a case in place ….. They finally found it and told me that I am not able to replace this unit because it is now after the 30 days. I explained that the first initial call was NOT after 30 days and I initially requested a replacement and was told they needed a tech to come and look at the refrigerator. • 10/27/2021 – On phone with Sears and they are insistent on finding a part and fixing the existing machine but could be an additional 2 week wait for shipping. I asked for management and spoke with another person that again did not help but said they would see what they could do to figure this out and get back to me. • 10/27/2021 (3:44 PM) – receive call from lady named Alicia and was told they were going to replace my refrigerator and someone from their replacement department would call me in 3 days and if I didn’t hear from them in 3 days I was to call 800-927-7836. • 11/01/2021 – Haven’t heard from anyone and today I will call this number; reach out to Board and President of Sears and local media. This is most disturbing that someone can be treated in such a manner and not at all taken care of.
• 11/01/2021 - 11:30, 3 days have passed since I was called so I contacted the number given to me by a Sears employee named Alicia of 1-800-927-7836. Representative pulled up my case and told me that it has not been reviewed yet. She would expedite the case and I should now hear from someone in 24-48 hours. I will not anticipate this call.

Led lighting

Purchased the Kenmore 51139 26 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator - Black in September of 2015. Over the next year I experienced a few instances where the lights in both the freezer and the fridge would not come on when you open the door. Naturally I didn’t think too much of this as the lights would usually come on the next time the fridge or freezer were opened. —little did I know this was a much bigger issue and Sears should have been contacted immmediatley while the unit was still under warranty.

Even still as the months went on the issue got worse. It would now take at least 5-10 openings of the freezer and or fridge door before the lights would come on. As of this complaint the lights no longer come on. I would like to think for a $1200 fridge the led lights, which are designed to last years, would not be failing in less than 4yrs of ownership. My husband and I have tried to repair this our selves and still to no avail the lights will not come on. We remodeled our kitchen with kenmore appliances and it was not cheap. It saddens me that with all the technology today Sears and Kenmore cannot seem to produce a good quality product.

I am so annoyed that whenever myself or anyone in my family opens the fridge or freezer we have to turn on the kitchen light and nearly fall into the unit just to see what we are looking for. This is an awful product and I will NEVER purchase nor recommend a kenmore product of any kind EVER—for that matter I will no longer shop at Sears. I just can’t give the, my hard earned money knowing they produce crappy products.

I see so many complaints here regarding the compressor going out in 3-4 yrs. omg I don’t know if I should feel lucky that our compressor has not gone out [yet] or unlucky knowing this is a common issue with kenmore and will most likely happen in the next year or so. Intwll you one thing I will not pay to replace or repair the compressor I’d rather purchase a new unit and wait for the class action suit.

What is the process to get a class action lawsuit started this is ridiculous.

When searching online for solutions regarding the lights I came across quite a few similar complaints with kenmore refrigerators. I am truly hoping there will be another kenmore class action lawsuit soon. Also seems kenmore was involved in a previous lawsuit and it settled in 2012.

Incompetent people and poor cust. Srv

Purchased a refrigerator thru customer service and ordered this unit thru Jake! Advised they were sold out with the basic model and I would need to upgrade! So Jake assured me my refrigerator would be here on Sat. June 2nd since I explained my situation my old unit motor is going out and making a loud noise and I need a new one quickly!!!!!!!! No problem said Jake!!!!!! Well I would receive s call from delivery on Fri when it would arrive. No calls ever received on Friday!!! I called and a girl in delivery said just wait till Fri at 9 and I will get an email. No email received by 9 as instructed!!! I call again today at 9:30 on Sat 6-2 and big run around. Advised your order is not coming until Sunday 6-3. Requested to speak with a manager whose name is Christi and was no help and hung up on me ! Wow unbelievable!!!! Don't recommended dealing with these incompetent people and poor customer service!!!!!!!

Missing order

This has been far the worst experience I ever had online shopping it was my first time buying thru Sears and I'm sure it will be my last, so I was supposed to received my order on November 4th and I didn't so I call customer service which by the way every single representative was from out of U.S.A they hardly know what's going on. I end up talking to 3 different representative and they all told me different things I'm so pissed because they still didn't solved my issue I'm still thinking where is my order? I used my free cash points and now they might end up giving a refund but what will happen with my free cash points? I was also told that I was going to receive a email from Sears in about 2 hours and I didn't receive any emails from Sears. I ask for my free cash points and a compensation for all this drama and the lady still saying she can't give me anything because if the time pass and my free cash points expires then they are gone as if it was my fault that Sears missed up my order I'm so disappointed on sears I would not recommend this store to anyone is why so many are closing really bad customer service

poor repairs

i brought my push lawnmower in for repairs. I had to find someone with a truck to bring me to the location as there are no repair facilities close. the repair was done poorly or incorrectly because the lawnmower is still having the same problem. i am told if someone comes to my home i have to pay the drive fee. not good service or fair to the customer when i had to find a way to bring the lawnmower there in the 1st place only to keep being told sorry you will have to bring it in. I tried to explain this to your customer service rep who had the nerve to say when i asked for a number to call in the complaint. OH MY God will you just listen. I told her she was rude she had poor customer service skills. The only reason i found out how to file this complaint is by continue searches on line & finding other customers who have complaints.. Sears needs to do better with customer service and trying to help customers. I should not continually be inconvenienced in bringing in my lawnmower because your repair people can't get it right. that is ridiculous.
