I wish to provide you with some very solid information regarding a number of illegal workers plying their trade in Malaysia.

The establishment in question is the Selangor Turf Club at Sungei Besai headed up by General Manager Mr Michael Fong Chee Poong. Mr Fong is operating with full knowledge that foreign workers do not have credentials to work in Malaysia.

In particular a number of Foreign Workers are plying their trades as horse trainers. These trainers include Daniel James Murphy an Irish National, Lim Boon Thong & Lawson Moy (Singapore), Anna Marie Scott New Zealand) and Robyn Anne Jensen and Frank William Maynard Australians).

Michael Castillo (Australian) is directly employed by the Selangor Turf Club and has no credentials at all.

Some of these trainers have been working illegally for a long period of time without a work permit. Some have registered companies but have not provided the paid up capital required under Malaysian law, such that the company status remains pending and no foreign worker has been approved to work.

My information is that today or tomorrow there will be another weak attempted application for a temporary visa as an effort to allow horses trained by these trainers to compete in races and earn money in the weekend but again, there is no foundation for granting of a temporary visa.

I should also say that some of these illegal foreign workers have at times had work permits granted for "short term temporary" periods of a few months whilst they attempted to raise capital and legitimize their operations but the fact of the matter is that none of the foreign workers have yet met the requirements to be granted a work permit and as of today the 12th July,2016 at least 6 of the above are working illegally at the Selangor Turf Club under the full view of that organizations General Manager, Michael Fong Chee Poong.

Please shut this illegal operation down and ensure only properly credentialed workers are employed in the horse racing industry in Malaysia.

Michael Fong Chee Poong should be answerable for overseeing these illegal foreign workers.
