I have been a member of Shapes since the 1980s starting with the Sarasota Shapes. Today I was verbally accosted by Mary Pat at the Brandon Shapes because of being late for a group class. She informed me there had been complaints from other members. So what as adults it is not anyone's business nor the place of staff at a private club to chastise to the point of feeling harassment. I am late often because of my schedule but I am always quiet and respectful and go to the back of the room. There are others late to class whether I go to the Brandon or Temple Terrace Shapes. So What! This is a private club who we all pay to go to and should not feel harassment by staff. It is no ones business why people are late. We are adults deal with it!

I have been a member of Shapes in South Tampa for over 15 years, and have been to several of their clubs, including Brandon, Palm Harbor and Carrolwood several times.

During all these years, I have not only been impressed with the level of professionalism from numerous Shapes employees, but, even more imortantly, I am so thankful for this clubs very existence.

I was a member of a co-ed gym for one, very long year, many years ago. That meat market experience led me to Shapes, and I have been totally satisfied with my membership.

I no longer feel self conscious about my body, no longer worry about some many undressing me with their eyes, or, sniggering behind my back.

The shapes membership, with exercises and machines geared for women, has simply been the best investment in my life.

There are whiners everywhere. The ones here, who complain about cancelling..my gosh, in my many years as a member, I have seen many friends come, and go, as people move into and out of the area. No one who I knew, and/or, continue to know, ever expressed a problem with canceling. It even makes me wonder, where these complaints, are even real.

Today I also received the annual enhancement fee for 29.00. The club I attend is in Bradenton Florida. Our club has had no new equipment, we have filthy yoga mats, everyone brings their own, we don't have enough yoga blocks and if there is a large class, we run out of weights. For me, this enhancement fee is a desperate attempt to steal money from members.I have been a member for over 6 years and I will not renew for this sneaky practice.
