I purchased the Shark Iron and in less than 2 months is stopped working. All the lights come on, but it does not heat up. I purchased it at Wal-Mart. My strategy was to purchase an iron from a reputable company at the mid-range cost. I don't need the most expensive iron nor did I want the cheapest. I am very disappointed with Shark and I will never purchase another Shark item. I will also dissuade anyone from buying ANYTHING from the Shark brand.

This morning while ironing for work my iron kept going on and off. All of a sudden a flame shot through the cord where it attaches to the iron and left soot on my arm, not to mention the shock from the noise that went with it! No more Shark products for me!!!

I had some friends over sewing in my sewing room and all of a sudden we smelled something burning and the next thing we knew there was a lot of smoke coming out of the iron. It was crackling and everything. Had we not been right there I believe my house would have burned down. It was scary. We unplugged it just in time and got it outside. Some of the silver area around the bottom was melting. I had just told my friends I really liked the iron too with the exception of it not holding water. I've had the iron for about 1.5 years and the knob was difficult to twist to steam or no steam so after it lost a full tank of water all over the place I didn't have to worry about that anymore. Now I will never buy another Shark. Ever.

Unsafe shark 1600 watt professional iron. Had the iron for less than 6 months. I had been ironing for approximately 30 minutes, set the iron upright, to reach for another shirt heard this hissing coming from the iron. It shorted out. Caught on fire on the inside of the iron, and started to smoke.

Was using my Iron and it started to smoke and smell.

When I need to "dry" iron it is impossible to turn the knob

I've had about a year and have always had a problem with water leaking which got worse over time, now won't even turn on. Tried to have it repaired and they said it wasn't worth the expense. Very disappointing!

Right out of the box and doesn't work. Lights blink and that's it.
Don't buy this product.

I've had this iron about 6 months. Thought I was buying the best. However, wen I put water it it for steaming, all the water gushes out as soon as I start to iron. Very disappointed with this product.

I have had my shark iron for less than a year and one day when getting ready to use it, it start smoking from where the cord goes in and not it is dead! I will not be purchasing anything else from shark... Buyer Beware!

I've had this iron for less than six months and now it won't even heat up. I thougt I was buying a very good product, but it turned out to be a lemon. I hope Shark stands behind their products i can't even call to talk to a representative about the problem.

Thought I was the only one with Shark iron problem until I got to this site. Got mine for about a year and now it is dead. No power what so ever. No more Shark iron or product in this house!

My shark iron GI405Z JUST SHORTED OUT fire came out of the handle where the cord goes into the iron. beware!!!
