Contract Dispute
I have been a Shaw customer for many years, I am retired and on a fixed income, I called shaw prior to my 2 year contract expiring to determine how I could reduce my monthly cost of approximately $140.00. They advised me at that time i had the best deal they could offer, so when my contract was up on May 30,2017 I returned all the equipment to shaw that was their property and asked that my account be cancelled which they did. On June 20,2017 i received a letter stating I owed $318.69 in cancelling fees for a new contract I supposedly agreed to in September 2016. I advised Shaw I did not agree to a new 2 year contract and would not be paying the amount supposedly owed. on July 12,2017 I received a letter from a collection agency telling me to pay up immediately or I would be reported to the credit agencies and it would look very bad on my credit report. I'm disgusted with this whole situation and just don't know what to do, please help

Shaw Cable kept an overpayment
After my father passed away I cancelled my father's cable service and there was a 60$ owed in the balance (paid by me from my bank account). When I contacted their customer service they told me to send the death certificate and my account payment from my bank as proof since they would not believe me. When I did, I got no refund but excuses, red tape and smart ass remarks from most staff who wanted revenge on me for cancelling their cable !
After cancelling it seems they are allowed to keep your money and humiliate you. I faxed my complaint to the so called CEO but received no response except to connect me to someone who you knew would do nothing.
The service before was "excruciating painful" making you wait and they falsify in their computer what you said to them to vilify you.
I do not recommend Shaw Cable
and thank god did not have any other service from them (like telephone or internet service...).
Be careful the service is transferred to your name before your loved ones pass away or else they'll ask you to talk to the dead to get your money back - these thieves, scum bags and liars!
