I was training to be a manager at this Sonic and the training manager was horrific she and her crew were, vulgar, rude, crude, verbally abusive, unethical... and of no help to my training what so ever and how could she be, the manager i mean, she was never there. I had to learn the store operations from the manuals because the crew did not care whether or not i was trained they made no effort to come to me and say "we are going to train you in this area today because the manager never gave them instructions on where and in what area to put me. When they did try to train me they would set me up to fail so they could criticize me for doing it wrong right in front of the other employee's and they would laugh at me and say remarks like "i can't believe they a making her a manager" "she's an F----- idiot" they got a kick out of it, because they were the type of people who had a position of authority and ridiculed, disgraced and tortured me and the other crew members, and would dangle there jobs in front of there face because they knew they could get away with it. When i told the manager about it she did nothing. When i asked the DM to be moved to another store to complete my training he did nothing. They would play music on the radio that consisted of back that thing up, let me put it in... in the mixed company of men and women, but what concerned me most was the fact that there were teenagers working there and i don't think the parents would have appreciated that had they known and i was witness to a supervisor screaming at a young girl that worked there and had i been that child's mother i would have had that person arrested for verbal abuse and terrorist threatening . I had one supervisor tell me to get my head out of my ass and that she was tired of telling me how to do things. I had one young girl that worked there beg me to please not be mean and cruel to my employee's when i went to my store, i even had several of her employee's want to transfer to my store. They also did not want me to take any breaks and i would put in 10 hour days so that was not going to fly with me and that is one of the reasons they hated me because i would not let them push me around like one of there employee's and i took my breaks. Then they would run tell the DM that i would not ask for the breaks and i was going over there heads or ignoring them, but the point is even if i did ask them for a break they would have said no and at no time during my shift would they have come to me and asked me if i would like to take my break now. The crew finally got to the DM and he let me go. Which really was a blessing because i have to say this was the worst job i have every had in my life and i have never seen so many hateful demonic people all in one place under one roof and i hope i never experience this type of treatment ever in my life time again. My advise to anyone thinking about working for a Sonic, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN and please parents do not let your children work there, not a good place to work. My child I know how you feel, I'm a crew member of McDonald's and I still work there. My first 3 months were horrible noone trained me and blamed me for the store backing up, my team leaves the grill and go home leaving me too run the fry, grill and make the food. The managers was forced too let me work 10 hours for two days because they didn't have anyone coming in I was 16 I had too work 4 hours but guess what? The punch in machine "didn't work" only on my number and they happen stolen over $600 from me but I didn't have the tickets too prove it. I had over 120 hours in one week. I quit that day. Then I can back they held my old job for me and my number worked but they still treat me like a dog until one day and co-worker went off on someone for being lazy ( I was working with him ever since I started he has ADHD and is OCD) I knocked him down and made sure he knew damn well his lower then s***. I never got in trouble he did, they stopped treating me like a dog and started working again, ( now I'm able too run the grill by myself) so from experience I'm very sorry that happened too you.
