poor customer service

I have a Straighttalk mobile hotspot. I always get notifications of air time added for my mobile phone as well as the hotspot via text messages. I had purchased a $50/3GB card for my hotspot thinking my son had used all the GB . I called to add service card and asked the gentleman to please add now. He informed me I would be losing almost 2GB of data from previous service plan so I asked him to keep that card in reserve. I never received notice of my card being added or of my previous card about to expire. As of today when I called to ask about my reserve card and if it could be placed I got told it was used already and service expired on May 8, 2015. Also was told I should of "used the data when I had it" by a customer service person during my inquiring call. I am upset I did not get any notice of either time added or time expiring soon for my hotspot. Feel cheated out of my $50 service card.
