I can't get rid of these people and they won't talk to us, the parents. Apparently the magazine sales group talked with my 16 year old handicapped son on the phone once. We didn't know until the phone calls came that they sold him some magazines ($700). We had gotten some strange invoices that we thought were a mistake and sent them back RETURN TO SENDER. Some of them I marked as this addressee is a minor (they did not need to know he was handicapped). The invoices stopped, but the callers began asking for my son. We do not usually allow him to talk on the phone, we screen calls but this one he answered. When we tell them he is a minor, they won't talk to us. They won't tell us who they work for or who they are trying to collect for. We tell them we don't want these magazines and mark them return to sender. They ask for his work number, he doesn't work. They are rude and won't tell us anything. The calls come all night--every night. I do not want to disclose he is handicapped (mentally at a 7 or 8 year old level) for fear he will be targeted for something else. AND IT IS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS. I can't find out the company so I can contact them directly since the invoices quit coming. We told them that we were talking with our attorney and the local Attorney General--they don't care. It is a different number that comes up with every call. Always a different area code. If you call the number back--it does not go through. I have gotten no where - so now I will handle it on my own. I will blow a whistle in the phone everytime they call.

I wish I could remember the name of the company: the magazines are EBONY (really, we are caucasian), ESPN and something else--the postman doesn't put them in our mailbox anymore. It was 3 initials like JHL Publications or something like that. I had looked them up when the invoices came and saw MANY complaints about their harrassment and fraudulent subscription tactics. Anyone know who they are????

I too order these magazines an was then entrapped into another contract under them. I received a call stating they were trying to make billing easier an putting 3 to 6 months together in one payment. Then they still charged me 34 for the original contract. When I called them they told me I had signed up for another contract I went off. Asking them who is doing their billing for them that they let someone sign someone up for 2 different subscriptions. I was lied to about the lumping the payments an instead was set up w/ 2 different accounts. Being told they canceled the 2nd account an that I would be reimbursed I left it be. Now, I am still waiting on the 64 something they took to be reimbursed while they continue to take their 34 every month.

Go to donotcall.gov and report them to the ftc and to the national do not call registry. Let's all put these guys out of business or file a class action lawsuit

They told me I would get a 100 dollar gift card which I was not ever able to use and also the stated they would send me all this free stuff and told.me exactly what to say during the pre recorded call ... They failed on their part of the bargain by sin sending my 100 dollars and they lied by stating they would send all this free stuff...this is a violation of the fcc and I refuse to pay
