Sweet-dreamz Mediclinic UIF Assistance

After giving birth to your first child, all you want to do is relax at homeĀ  andĀ  take care of your little one. The last thing you need is to worry about standing in long queues at the Labour department claiming for UIF. Being a new mom to a new born is a beautiful experience, but comes with sleepless nights and you are tired most of the time. Therefore, I paid Sweet- dreamz R500 to claim on my behalf because I thought they honestly cared for mothers and were professionals. But all I got has been anxiety after anxiety, first they have poor communication- they never call and only send emails. Second my claim was rejected because the doctor didn't put his physical address (some thing they could have picked up) and after I sent them the address- the Labour department said they received the same form again without the address. I was fortunate that I called the UIF call centre to follow up on my claim and thats how I knew so much before Sweet-dreamz. They found out FROM ME that my claim was rejected when I was under the impression that they were paid to keep clients updated. I had to ask my gynae to fill in his address and then send it directly to UIF call centre agents. Bear that I was not getting my full salary and had debts to pay but spent money on data to send emails and airtime to get to speak to the UIF agents (you wait a long time to get through).. I spent alot of money on airtime calling UIF to follow up on my claim, even demanded to speak to the supervisor after waiting for a long period for the assessor to approve the claim which he finally did after the supervisor followed up on the matter. And then came the second submission, Sweet-dreamz was not speedy with that because " I am not their only client and had to wait for other clients to get their first payments". After they eventually submitted, they were advised to resubmit (they dont know why) and they didnt inform me about that..I called the UIF call centre and found that out.. It's been over 20 working days since my submission and I still haven't received my second payment but do you think Sweet-dreamz cares to follow-up?.. If I knew what I know now about Sweet-dreamz, I wouldn't have bothered and did the UIF filling on my own. What a waste of my money!!!!!

maternity claim assistance

I opted to use Sweet Dreamz as they were listed on the Medi-Clinic website as agents that would assist with your UIF Claims. I delivered in April 2015 and assumed that its could not take more than a few months as other's already received their payouts promptly.
The first few months were back and forth with corrections they required. It has been an absolute disaster, I have to endless contact Kelly every week else she never provides an update, it has been TWO YEARS and still nothing no feedback, there is always some issue of some sort. This is actually so disappointing, I really struggle to see how two years and still no response or payout. The last update was a year ago whereby Kelly advised that the systems were changed and that they had to re-submit.... still waiting. I have asked for proof of submission of my documents and have received no response.

If other women received their payouts during the same period that I submitted mine.... this is a serious concern.

I retract my complaint about Sweet Dreamz as i was extremely frustrated for not receiving any payouts from the labour department. I painted a negative image of the company... I have been getting my feedback and updates weekly and the delay is not on there side.

Sweet Dreamz is a company who provides a service where they assist you with your maternity UIF claim. You complete all the necessary paperwork and they submit to the department... If only it was as easy... They never get back to you regarding the process of your claim. Every week I have to follow up with them and every week its a different story. They do not put pressure on the department especially if there's a delay. Its been 5 months now and I am still waiting for my money...

My advice: do all the necessary work yourself, I'm sure the process will go much faster
