agree...they did the same thing with me bk in 2004...gave me the same run around...don't give out your bank info...after so many unanswered questions, I decided to go to the IRS myself and what I was trying to do, ...I couldn't do it...because the taxes I was tryna take care of (deceased spouse) we never filed together so I couldn't do it...so my question to them what were they going to do for me, if I could'nt do it on my own. And the games begin.

After our daughter died Lars stopped working started drinking. He ran his own construction company out of our house so we were living comfortably at the time, i didn't have to work and we had plenty in our savings to last us a while so it seemed obvious at the time for Lars to take some time off... months turned to years and our savings started to run dry, so i started work again as an RN. I didn't know it at the time, but falsifying information on our returns to maintain the life style we had. in reality even before he stopped working his small business was running at a loss, but he wasn't claiming most of the contracts he was receiving on the returns. this didn't matter to me at the time, Lars was driving back from the bar and got into a bad wreck. He was in a coma til last year when we finally decided to let him go. On a different note, I was starting to receive notices from the IRS that they were going to levy my bank account and garnish my pay if i didn't pay the back taxes i owed totaling in $300, 000!!! I called up Tax Masters After seeing a commercial. They told me through an Offer in Compromise they could reduce the liability to only a few grand. So i took what i had left in my savings and paid them the $15, 000 they needed. HOW COULD THEY STEAL FROM ME?!?!?! they knew what i was going through and they did nothing for me. Six months after i paid them and never got any status from Tax Masters i called the IRS who told me no OIC was ever submitted on my behalf!!! How? Why? I PAID THEM FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS AND GOT NOTHING!!!
After i got ripped off i was referred to David at Us tax liberty (949)999-3308. He heard my story, put me on hold, "we file an innocent spouse claim.". According to us tax liberty i did qualify for an OIC. and if Tax Masters had Filed the forms i would have been approved! BUT I DIDN"T NEED AN OIC! I don't know why they would rip somebody off like that. it only cost a few hundred dollars and us tax lib. had the garnishment removed and liability dismissed in less than a week. and now i owe nothing to the irs. Why would Tax Masters take advantage of somebody like that????I don't understand... I'm over trying to get my money back. just please don't go to them. They will only hurt you like they did me.

I thought I would use Tax Masters service so I contacted them on 4/4/11 and talked with a woman about their services. She said the cost would be 2650 to start service with them. I then (big mistake!!) gave them my bank account info and they took out the 2650 + 350 to do 2011 taxes.

After a week I didn't hear from anyone at the company so then I decided to do a complaint check and the complaints were a mile deep. After many calls and given the run around i contacted someone and told them I was cancelling my agreement which I sent in on 4/12/11 and cancelled on 4/13/11. I then called back to get a confirmation of my cancellation from what they call customer service. It took 5 days to get the email from them. I then place more calls to find out about my refund. They told me 60 days and I was sent a refund check on 8/14/11(120 days later!!) after calling again to complain about them not refunding in 60 day. I spoke with someone named Ernie and he was a lawyer with the company. He explained that company policy requires they keep the 350.00 for administration costs. What a bunch of Bull!!

This company has an F rating and 1000 complaints with attorney general of TX. They are being sued by the state and the lawyer says they are working on the complaints but of course their are way too many to handle that is why (he said) I had to wait 120 days not the company policy of 60 days to get my money back. Stay far away from this company and any other offering these services. They actually as I have read other complaints made things much worse for the person retaining their services. Lesson learned get a good cpa or ex-IRS tax service to do these taxes and forget about paying for service when services were not rendered and at a cost of 350.00 for nothing!! Stay far away from this company!!

My mama underwent the very same exact matter. That lady got burned because of a tax debt specialist which promised this lady everything she would like to hear. If you are even now owing money to the Federal government, you needs to look at ConsumerTaxReports.org. My solitary remorse is that I didn't locate the site before she got scammed. This site has spared this lady from being scammed out a second time. This woman read the assessments regarding every single specialist, called those people these people advocated the most, and now this woman is out of the forest.
