At Best Buy I tried to purchase a refrigerator and my check was declined by Telecheck. THe sales rep and I called the customer service number on my declined check to find out what to do about it. THe customer service at Telecheck verified all my information and my banking information and told me due to inactivity on my account and the number of days since the last telecheck check payment processed my check couldn't be accepted. She verified that it was not due to lack of funds or an inability to pay just the unusual amount and time frame. I went on to tell her I was the authorized signer on the account and I have a photo ID I just want to buy this refrigerator. She told me there was nothing she could do just to tell me why they refused my check. I told her I don't write checks for everything and the other ones for utilities ect may not have shown up yet but that there is money to cover this purchase. She said it had nothing to do with money. I said what if I write another one she said she couldn't guarantee it would clear. I said what if I write two checks splitting the amount in half for each one she said she still couldn't guarantee it would go through. I said preventing me from making a legal transaction and preventing me from obtaining my funds could be something they could be sued over. She said go ahead and sue.
