Telecheck systems processed a total of 5 checks on two separate checking accounts fir our household written to our family-owned grocery store. The grocery store never sent s notice that any of the checks were nsf,I only discovered the problem and the ensuing mess and loss of $700 in bank fees (not including the check amounts or the fees Telecheck attempted to collect afterwards, or the hundreds in bank fees lost due to the shortfalls resulting g each time Telecheck presented the items for payment (4 times?!?!) without checks the funds available first, but most importantly: Telecheck NEVER NOTIFIED US IF THE AMOUNT DUE AND FEE AFTER THE FIRST RETURN, we got NO LETTER, NO STATEMENT WITH REMITTANCE INFO, not one phone call, not one email NOTHING--ZERO NOTIFICATIONS!! How the hell are you supposed to pay a bill if you DONT KNOW THE NAME OF THE COMPANY YOH NEED YO PAY, OR THEIR ADDRESS, PHONE OR NUMBER, AND YOU DONT KNOW THE TOTAL AMOUNT OWED?!?!! So it was not paid because WE HAD NO KNOWLEDGE THERE WAS A PROBLEM because THEY NEVER. INFORMED US?!?!?!?! But then it goes to "COLLECTIONS"?? ?? How can something go to collection before you ever get the first statement? How is it possible to be in collection status with a company that has ALL OF YOUR INFORMATION available yet never sends you a statement that allows you the opportunity to pay?!?!! In addition, there ARE NO PEOPLE AVAILABLE TO SPEAK WITH EXCEPT CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS IN A FOREIGN CALL CENTER.
There are NO SUPERVISORS and any and all disputes are handled VIA FAX (wtf? Is it 1995 or something???) everything is recorded message instructions to resolve a dispute that takes up to 30 days to "resolve". Any merchant using this company is doing a HUGE DISSERVICE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. Personally, I will never again spend my money in any establishment that uses Telecheck. They are cheaper to use than Checkcare Systems FOR A REASON--because they are a cheap, shady, fly by night company that milks your customers for fees for weeks or months at a stretch
