I have using TM's Streamyx service for 7 years. Starting around march 2017, TM sneakily cut off Internet and phone service during peak period(5.00 p.m - 9.00 a.m), which a lot of people keep their PC on for downloading stuff at night. note that around 2.00 am to 6.00 am, my internet speed will drop from 1550 kbps to 370 kbps(while the phone line is still cut off and no dial tone). After i use MyTM to report my problem to TM for 5 times. I gave up because all they did was sending notification of maintenance SMS to my phone and pretend the problem is fixed.
Something is fishy about MyTM (TM's online customer help center). the staff require me to pick from 2 options every time they file a report.
Option 1: renew another year of contract with them, and they do it for free. Mean that you can't stop the service subscription without paying penalty within a year
Option 2: they will charge me RM52(if on site service is carry out) plus any additional equipment they replace on my next bill.
The staff insist that i pick one option so that the report can be file. Are you serious? renew contract without knowing the root of the problem? This is obviously a short-term cheap scheme to prevent losing customer especially when you know you're going to lose another one soon!
I was wondering what they do with the resource after they have my line cut off during peak period. Maybe they use it for other sneaky stuff? or maybe someone in TM is scheming something without his/her superior knowing? Only god know.
I' sure that I'm not the only one that having this issue, for those that having the same issue as i did, i suggest you start looking for alternative ISP. I strongly advise against renew contract with them. unless you want to get milk for another year! I don't think TM will give a shit about what i wrote as well. I'm done with TM as i will get another ISP that care for their customer instead. As a consumer, I fear that TM glorious ISP time has come to an end while what is left is rotten and reek!
