I was born in 1962, I had terrible allergies as a child and of course Tetracycline was one of the drugs they tried on me. I have had grey tetracycline teeth since my permanent teeth came in. I have tried bleaching, it does not work!! My parents were first told that the staining would not be permanent, but of course we now know that is not true. I do feel the drug company should be liable this is not something I was born with and as far as I know the only fix is veneers (which of course need replacing eventually). Insurance will not cover veneers because they are cosmetic, you can not even use the goverment flex benefit because it is considered cosmetic. The grey never goes away you do smile less, as recent as last year someone asked me when I got braces because from a distance by teeth were grey so thats what they thought it was!
