I was given tetracycline when I was a young child because my parents trusted their doctor. Needless to say my teeth like all others here came in discolored in a dark grey color. My childhood pictures show me never smiling. When I was a teenager I got braces which helped to hide the discoloration. I have suffered from confidence due to this issue. I have also spent thousands of dollars to fix my teeth. I had bonding in my late teenage years which didn’t last too long. Then I had that replaced with veneers...20 of them. I had to have the veneers replaced in my early 30’s. Now I am in my mid 40’s and the enamel on my teeth is so worn down that I need caps on half of the teeth and new veneers on the rest. I have 5 broken veneers which I can not afford to replace right now. So I hide my smile and suffer from teeth sensitivity because my teeth are exposed. Insurance does not cover any costs as they say it’s cosmetic. There is nothing cosmetic about this and we need to be compensated at least for dental work.
