Dear Mr Mac in Tosh of the sports department at haps boys school

I would like to formally raise my concern over the new wednesday games option (or imposition instead of option). My son is in the final of 7 (up till now successful) years at the school.

My concern is that my son informed me last week that new MS options have been imposed on him. What this means is that he is no longer able to choose what he does each week, and you decide for him. I think this is reprehensible and not at all commensurate with the UK policies for 6 form education. Not only that but he signed up for fitness at start of year with intention of sticking to that this term. He has been misled.

I don’t know if it is that this will be changed back this week and it was just a one-off for last week, or if you want to keep it going in the future. If it is to be dropped, then my complaint can also be dropped so please ignore this email.

I believe that my son should have more of a say on this rather than you just giving him something to do each week.

I used to attend an independent school in London when I was his age, and so I think this is ridiculous. If he in year 1 I could maybe understand.

On a separate note, I would like to pay thanks to the excellent ACADEMIC teachers. It seems that the one department holding back the school is the sports department. I could say oh well only one, but it simply isn’t good enough. For sunday times school of the year the school should be all rounded and encompassing. But it just isn’t because of your judgement’s inadequately and ingeniously deceivingly pathetic new systems.

I hope you sort it out so we don’t have go go anywhere else with this, but if you don’t then I will speak to OFSTED and escalate to upper management.
