Customer Service

I shop at The Children's Place all the time for my children.I have 4 children ages 14,11,6,and 2. I was very excited when they opened one in Paterson because I no longer needed to travel outside the city to shop. In the beginning the associates were very nice and helpful, now they have been open a few years and I don't think that it is as important to be welcoming to the customers as it once was. The customer service in this place is really bad I mean even down to the security guard they have in there. I feel really uncomfortable spending my money in this establishment because of the nastiness of the individuals that are working for them.If this was one isolated incident that would be something different. However, this is something that happens often, and while I do not work in retail I do work in customer service and I understand how difficult consumers can be sometimes, and this is why I make it my business to be as pleasant as possible when speaking to the associates, it is never reciprocated. They are rude, they are unfriendly and they are not helpful. I asked one associate if she could check online to see if the store in the mall had the shoe I was looking for in the size I needed, I was told I had to do it myself "we don't do that". I had something I ordered online and had it ship to the store, no rush pick up, the day it was supposed to get there I called to see if it was there and one young lady told me "you gotta call back" with no explanation, when I called back another young lady told me, if that is the date it says in the email than it's there. I left work on my lunch break to pick up my order get in the store, waited almost 20 mins for someone to assist me then another 30 mins only for her to tell me that my order was not there yet. These are only a few of the examples of the failing customer service in this establishment. I was very uneasy about even making a complaint because I understand that people need their jobs and I would never want to be the reason that someone is unemployed but something needs to be done about the way that they are treating paying customers. The people that come in the business to purchase things I'm sure work hard for their money and WE should be treated with dignity and respect.
