I have a complaint, it has been brought to our attention that the students don't feel they are getting the education they signed and paid for. The facility is like a high school with students running around, acting like middle school, surfing the internet instead of attending the clients. Wet towels on the floors, combs being dropped and picked right up and used on a client. I have observed this behaviour every time I go in. So, in my opinion I feel the school itself is not teaching the students how to behave and learn as you know there is a big turn over and its not the same students. The instructors are not teaching them how to use products on the clients and in results hair is being damaged. I have spoke to an educator about this and feel nothing was accomplished.

I go to The salon professional academy in Cincinnati, Ohio and wow everything I have read here is spot on. One of our main educators uses the fake it till you make it everyday, they are not good at faking it or do I feel i could make it after graduating. When I first started this school a few months ago we were allowed to use hair color and bleach on our mannequin but shortly after were told we were using to much product an took it away, and told us to use shaving cream and conditioner. AHH really hard to see what u have done when not able to use real products to practice. We also have this thing called a notty list and if you are a minute late or are sick on a saturday or there is a major ice storm on a saturday, you are unable to get any services from other students for two weeks which we have to pay for at a 50% discount. We are not taught much at all the educators are overwhelmed when there are more then 10 students on the floor and do not care what you do just as long as you are not bothering them, and are suppose to look busy at all times standing in front of your mannequin. When someone goes to complain which I have, we are told to stop acting like children and if we dont like it there is the door. I am a grown woman who decided to go into the beauty field and was told I would get a good education but they have failed in every way to do this. I have made a complaint with state board but am not sure that will accomplish much. I do not feel we should be liable to have to pay full price for such a bad education but once that contract is signed you cannot do anything and they do not care that you are not satisfied.
