I went in to Tire choice and Total Car Repair to get a price on replacing my driveshaft and when they were looking at my car was told that there was an oil leak (I had just replaced all oil gaskets ect, and there was NO leaks) Then they put my car on a lift and sprayed oil on the engine and told me that they would have to do a dye test and it would be 89.00 when I refused they dropped the price to 59.00 if I would do it right away, againI refused and again asked for the price on the drive shaft.. after a bit .. they told me it would be 1,300.00 and I needed to give them a deposit... I refused and left... Had the driveshaft replaced Gary's driveline inc. for 323.00-- and there was NO oil leak

On November 23, 2011 I brought my car to The Tire Choice & Total Car Care located at 1118 N. Dixie Hwy West Palm Bch, FL 33401 to get an oil change and an air conditioner check. My reciept, order no. 152613, indicated that the check was done and 2lbs. of freon was put into my car, a 2006 Scion tC. About 7 months later, my air conditioner started blow warm air. On July 7, 2012 I brought my car back to The Tire Choice & Total Car Care because I wanted to know what the problem was. I waited about an hour and a half for them to finally tell me what was "supposedly" wrong with my car. They gave me a quote, order no. 156591, and told me what was wrong. They said that I needed a new Compressor with Clutch ($1,899.99), a new Condenser with Dryer ($799.99), 2 lbs. of freon ($80.00), AC Evac. & Recharge A/C System ($44.99), plus labor ($600), shop fees, and tax for a total of $3,667.57. I was also told that these parts have to come from the "dealer". I went home and right away I seached on the internet for the parts. I wound up finding both of the parts online, brand new, for about 90% less than they quoted me, and I was prepared to order them. Less than two weeks after my quote from The Tire Choice & Total Car Care I went to get a second opinion at a shop located in West Palm Beach. I explained to them what I was told by The Tire Choice & Total Car Care and they told me it did not make sense. They took my car and less than one hour later they came into the waiting room and told me my air conditioner was all fix. I was in utter shock, as I was prepared to spend about $400 in parts plus labor so I could have it fixed. Low in behold, my Condenser and Compressor are both in great shape and it was my Schrader Valves that were leaking. The valves cost $3.19 to replace and I paid the shop to fill my car back up with freon, which by the way ONLY holds 1 lb 4 oz. I had this fixed for UNDER $100.00, when The Tire Choice & Total Car Care completly tried to rip me off and charge me a mere $3,700.00 for work that did not have to be done!!! Their mechanics are not good, and they are going to mess up peoples cars. I will not return there as I do not trust that they even change my oil.
