Thrifty Car Rental

On Oct 29th I made reservations online at Thrifty Rental Car/Car Trawler to travel to Midland Texas to see about my very ill nephew. Once I got to DFW I took my confirmation number and went to rent the car only to be told that my credit score wasn't high enough and refused to rent me a car. I was 400 miles from Midland and had traveled from Florida. This company took out 118.00 out of my checking account and they refuse to give me a refund. I am so angry that I will let it be known at every opportunity to let others know that if you don't have perfect credit then stay awayyyyyyyy from Thrifty they are crooks!!!!!!!!!! 116.00 is a lot of money for me and I will NOT stop until I get a refund. Again PLEASE do not do business with this company.

Horrible Experience

I first experience of rental a car with Thrifty Car Rental has been a horrible one. This branch at 330 Front Street West either simply do not understand what customer service meant or simply ignorant on how to treat their customer well.
I made my reservation for Dec 24 to 26, 2013, of which I specify that I am going to pick up the car at 5pm on Dec 24. Just lunch however, employees from said branch were already kept calling me to come much earlier because they are going to leave early for Christmas. I told them I understand thus as soon as I arrived home from work at around 3:30pm I took a cab to go to 330 Front St West at 4pm. At that time however because I was in a hurry and because my phone was in low battery, I left my phone in my house to charge. And I did not expect that when arrive at the branch to pick the car, I was asked to provide another phone number aside from my phone number by the reservation officer on duty (with computer code name SBedi). At that moment I was having difficulty of providing another phone because all of my contacts and information were in my cellphone I left to charge at home and I am not good of memorizing phone numbers even of my personal emergency contacts. The only phone that I expertly memorized is my cellphone number.
What troubled me at this incident was that after I managed to provide the trunk line number of my office number and when I asked why the 2nd number was so important, the branch’s employee with the code SBedi arrogantly threatened me that he will call my boss and to explain why it was important. I was upset with the treatment I was getting from that branch but still I proceeded to rent the car with a word to them that as soon as I returned the car on Dec 26, I will no longer do business with Thrifty Car Rental ever again. What I said could probably the reason of my additional horrible experience with Thrifty Car Rental which I am going to tell.
I returned the car at around 1pm on Dec 26 after I vacuumed cleaned and physically inspect the car. When I arrived at the branch’s parking area to have the car returned no branch’s representative was there to check the car condition in my presence. I felt it was strange that no one was there to check the car because as I recalled the branch was supposed to be opened until 5pm.
Since no branch representative was at the parking area, I proceeded to the branch’s office to return the keys and to give the parking ticket. When I came in, employee SBedi was the one on the reception desk and instead of accompanying me to check the car, he just took the keys and the parking ticket, then told me that will email the receipt to my email address instead of printing it on the spot when I asked. Trusting that everything was OK and done, I went home to eat my lunch. I never expected the most horrible experience I am going to have from employee SBedi that is going to happen an hour after.
At around 2:35 pm, employee SBedi left 2 missed calls on my cellphone. When I finally got a hold of him on the other line, I was horrified when he told me that there was a chip on the car’s windshield and I need to go back to the branch to file an accident report else he will make my life more difficult. I can’t believed employee SBedi threatened me again.
Anyhow after I called my insurance to report the incident, I was compelled to go back to 330 Front St West (still with an empty stomach) to file the incident report and to put an end to employee SBedi’s arrogance and threats.
There are things though that I would to clarify with this incident.
Firstly, why there was no one to check the car in presence when I returned the car at the parking area?
Secondly, before I returned the car, I have it checked thoroughly and I did not noticed any chip either on the windshield or any windows. Why suddenly the chip came out after an hour and was found when I was no longer there to confirm? Although accidents happened, the coming out of the chipped windshield discovered by the employee SBedi felt too coincidental to me. Something felt very wrong on how it appeared.
Thirdly, I will keep my promise not to do business with Thrifty Car Rental ever again. I simply had enough with people who are arrogant who could magically discovered a chipped windshield after I am gone. I would be very difficult for me to bring back my trust to Thrifty Car Rental after this horrible experience I got from employee code name SBedi.
Thanks,
Welther Analucas
