ITC UPDATE

Since February 2016, due to unforeseen funerals in one month, I fall behind with my account payment. I tried to pay each month at least from R300. to show that its not because i did not want to pay, but that I could not. I explained to the debt collectors that was forever on my case at times being threatened, but i tried to make payments until things started to get better.

As my finances started to pick up I started to pay up to R2000. Recently i went to the bank to apply for my daughter a study loan, and find out that I was in arrears of R4000. I went and paid the arrears to get my account up to date. I asked the cashier to make a call to ask for an update on my account that i'm not in arrears, which she did while I was standing with her.

Great was my surprise as i went back to the bank just to be told that nothing was done and because of that i could not get a loan. I called Truworths in Cape Town myself first to be told that my account will be updated in 30days, upon me insisting I was told that a letter will be sent to me to say that I'm updated with my account to give to the bank. Why not use that letter write to ITC and tell them that my account is up to date? And only upon my insistence, in truth if the letter takes 3days i was suppose to receive it already, as I insisted for an update the day i made a payment.

I spoke with two different ladies and a man, and according to my understanding what the man was trying to tell me was that because I was in arrears for so long never mind the fact that I cleared my arrears and are up to date now it is only fair that truworths should keep me on ITC with the status as in arrears with R4400. for a month, and can be cleared only after a month.

Believe me, I've worked for 9 years in the retail industry and that is a first for me for a multinational company such as Truworths, mostly because of your vast company imagine international your service should be weekly, imagine your payment update immediately but you can only update your clients payments on once a month basis. Wow.....

I am very thankful for this lesson. Believe me I now know how my future will be, this month will be my last payment and my account will be closed. I will be in Cape Town from the 18th August 2016, just to sort this issue out. How can a child's future be jeopardised because of only one action that can be changed just by one act of humanity. I would have understand that if i was still in arrears that such an action is justified.
