Being treated like a shoplifter
I visited Truworths Mall of the South Saturday 26 August 2017 looking for khaki capped pants which I couldn't get, however saw a normal Khaki pants. I then went to look for the same at Woolies and Sportcene and still I couldn't find one.
I then decided to go and get the normal I saw at Truworths earlier on, when I entered the store a male security guy who saw me earlier noticed me coming back.
I went straight to DH section to get the khaki trouser and also decided to take the red shorts I liked when I turned back to go to the tills I see a female security staring at me which I didn't read too much into it.
when I was in the queue to pay I noticed the lady has followed me to ensure that Im actually going to pay and not maybe still the stuff, this disturbed and the customer behind me tried to bypass me as I was not aware that it was now turn to step closer to the till operator and pay.
I immediately went to pay, as I was walking out of the store, I confronted the male security and told him just because I entered the store twice didn't mean I am a shoplifter and have taken serious offence on that since I have an account with the store opened in 1994, I got more angrier and confronted the female security who had been following me as well.
As I was leaving the store I could hear one of the staff ladies asking the male security why did she leave me when I confronted the female security, I then asked her does she have a comment on the matter, she said no she was asking the male security what transpired.
As I was driving out I decided to call the store and ask for the store manager, I was put through to Martie (not crystal sure about the name), I related to her how I feel being reduced to a non entity by her security personnel.
Martie took my contacts and promised to get back to me as soon as she has had a word with the security staff, that was at 14:20.
I waited for Martie for two hours to get back to me, which she never did. at 16:30 I called the store again and asked for Martie she picked up the phone and asked to get back to me.
She told that she had a word with all involved and told me the attention was not on me but on two gentleman whom they suspected, I told her this is all lies, how convenient can the two guys be next to me where ever I am in the store and yet fail to notice them.
