Items missing from Luggage

Yesterday, 11 April 2016, I flew from Budapest to Tokyo via Istanbul.
Had several hundred EUR stolen from my luggage and everything was a mess inside it.
Is there anything I can do? Its more a problem of trust at this point.
How can we feel ok, knowing that when we fly, there will be someone going through your personal belonging?
