My sister passed away in Sept 2013 since then my Mom tried to claim for UIF on behalf of a minor child that was 16 at the time and was told she need to wait the money will be paid the her account

In 2015 when she goes to check why they havent paid out the money was told that they need a guardianship and the child is now 18

My sister passed away on the 08th september 2015 and In November my Mom submitted all the required documents for UIF death benefits claim on behalf of her Minor child that was 16 the time.

She was then told that everything was fine and had waited for a payout since then,Now when she went to check why was the money not paid out was told she need to go get Guardianship even though the child is already 18 at the moment
