Myself and a fellow colleague were retrenched from the same company same department earlier this year, we claimed UIF in October and wevthen went in to sign on the 16th of November 2017 for first payment.
It is now the 7th of December and neither of us have received our payments.
After driving up and down to the don mateman centre to tey and sort this out, and numerous emails to the department, a gentleman called me today to tell me that my claim was not approved because I resigned.
This is not true as the company made us sign a Voluntary secerance package and they also signed a UI 2.11 foem stating that our contracts were terminated by the employer. Which ee submitted to the UIF department.
I was told to go back to the department to submit an appeal. I will no go.because I do not have the funds for transport or petrol to pay for their mistakes and incompetence.
This needs to be sorted out immediately as this has now highly inconvenienced me as I have school fees to pay and a car.
I want this matter sorted and I want my money.
