I am utterly disgusted and frustrated with the department of labour. As an employer we make sure that our monthly UIF submissions are made and that we pay every sent due for UIF on time.
None of our ladies have been paid maternity money in the last 2 years despite repeated submission of the UI19 and UI2.7 forms.
One of our employees who was dismissed in March still doesn't get UIF moneys paid to her because they keep insisting that she resigned. I, the employer, have submitted UI19's and termination letters indicating that she was Dismissed since March 2014.
In September I called the call centre to ask why they are not paying any of our employees out. They then told me that they had not received any submissions since 2011, which is a lie since we have proof that we submitted them. We then proceeded to re-submit all the declarations. I sent everything up until 2012 and called back just to check if they have received the declarations thusfar, only to be told "but we have all of your declarations. Why are you sending them again?" How do they make a mistake like that?
Today I called the call centre again because the employee that was dismissed in March still hasn't received any money and the UIF branch keeps telling her that she resigned and no money is due to her. I have now submitted all the necessary paperwork for her FOUR times. Each forms clearing indicates code 4 - dismissed and I even included a tarnation letter.
Today when phoning I waited 10minutes for somebody in "Claims' to answer. Eventually a lady answers, take the employees ID number and tells me she resigned. I explained to her that she did not and told her that the last declaration I re-submitted for her clearly states that she was dismissed. I am the person who dismissed her... how can I have this wrong?
She then told me that the 3rd submission on 23/10/2014 was received but not processed. When I asked who I could speak to to clear the matter up, as somebody is clearly not doing their job…she hung up!
I called back again at9:42 and sent another 8 minutes waiting for the phone to be answered. I explained the matter again and got the same answer. Seeing as I have e-mail acknowledgements from ufillingsupport and webmaster that the declaration has been received I asked to be put through to somebody in the declarations department to clear this up. 5 minutes later "Sipho" answers and tells me that I was put through to the switchboard. He then attempts to put me through to declarations again at 9:55.
By 10:08 there is still no answer.
What kind of circus is this? Money is paid every month and no money is paid out. That is theft, in my book and I am fed up with our government organisations victimising law-abiding citizens. Something needs to be done. This is ridiculous!
