Ulta Very rude employees

The times I have been there and and ask for a product they just hand me anything and go have conversations with their coworkers or just tell me to give them a sec. and they don't come back! One time the lady took stuff out of my shopping bag and said they will just hold it until I pay it at the register! I think they are racist and very rude I will not be going back! Btw it was the one by burlington and ross.

RUDE Employees

I went into the newer Ulta location today to pick up a few items. I was greeted by a woman asking if I needed help, but what happened next left me in shock! She was carrying a small dog and I said "Awe, what a cutie!" and went to pet him, but she viciously yanked him away and yelled in my face "Don't pet him!" I jumped back and was mortified!! Other shoppers turned and stared while I apologized to her, but she ignored me and asked if I wanted anything else. I did have a few items, but replied "No" considering how uncomfortable I was with her behavior.

I'm standing in the aisle, and I hear the same employee yell "Don't pet him!" at an elderly woman, who too, began profusely apologizing. At this point, I'm so uncomfortable being there that I didn't even bother to get the rest of the items that I went in for, and just got in line to pay for what I did have. The cashier was on the phone, didn't say hello, look at me, just grabbed my items and rang me up. She didn't even give me a total and I had to ask.

I'm so disgusted and blown away by the demeanor of the Ulta employees that I will never return there, or Ulta again for that matter. This is by far the worst customer service I've ever had at a store and I purchase products elsewhere.

Rude employee

When checking out at Ulta, I asked for an extra bag. I had bought $93.00 worth of stuff. The employee asked me what I wanted the bag for and then said that I was costing the store to lose money by getting another bag. I shop there almost at least every week or every other week and spend close to $100.00 each time, so I don’t think an extra bag is going to make the store lose money. Needless to say, I will not return.

Employee liar, rude

On 6/1/18 at the Ulta store in Best of the West I heard the Lancome woman saying that Lancome is cruelty-free. When I told her that's not true , she said she's not the person testing on the animals so she doesn't care.

I bought several items. I, opened one of the perfume box. It was empty! The person never apologize for the inconvenience! The bottle was there but empty. Secondly, I don't remember saying I wanted this item. The employee told me. He was going to review a video to see what happened. What are you implying you jerk?

Rude Employees

My daughter & I went into the new Ulta in Cedar Park, Texas. My daughter needed a new foundation. There were tons of employees no one except one was waiting on a customer. My daughter couldnt find her color in the foundation so she asked a sales assoicate if they had more product...she didnt know so she yells at another girl that didnt even wear make up who works there if they had more product...she yells back no & the two of them went about doing nothing. It was their chance to sell something else but instead they walked off leaving us just standing there. They are not helpful could have cared less if we were in their store or not. I believe one of the girls was Jasmine & the other short red hair no make up... both were not sales worthy! So we went to another store not Ulta.

Rude and judgmental employee

The ulta on 14 and John R is horrible. The customer service is terrible and they do not like taking returns at this store. I had my email from my online order, the box it came in and all of my paperwork. The cashier asked if I used the product and I said yes, then she proceeded to tell me that I can’t return it because I used too much of it. I still had more than half a tube left. She always finds a way to not take the return. I don’t understand why she hassles honest people this way. I’m never shopping there again. The employees are rude and they act like we’re taking money out of their pockets, it’s ridiculous. Ulta needs to better train their employees. I’ve only experienced this at this particular Ulta. It’s a shame.

Ulta

I walked in today with a couple girlfriends to look for foundation. I noticed the associate that works in there her name is Carrie. We went to one section of the store there she was, we went to another section of the store there she was, with nothing in her hands to at least not make it obvious she just was looking to see if we were stealing something. After the second time that she went to go look at our hands I just keep staring at her and then she noticed that I caught onto her gimmick. Then she tried to play it off as if she was going to hand me a bag for the products in my hand. My friend see me really upset about this lady watching us so we go to the counter to pay and gtfo of this store. I noticed once waiting in line Carrie, went up to the counter and pretended she had something to do. I turn around while waiting in line and noticed a lot of women in the store, but she wasn't following them and I said it loud enough for her to hear. Then she got under the counter to talk on the phone with someone and away from the other associate who was helping me. Jessica was super welcoming and noticed me being upset at her co worker, gave me the biggest smile. I will never come back here if Carrie is still working at this location. I have never been treated with such discrimination. Just because I came with a bare face doesn't mean im stealing I was there to try new products to match my skin tone. CARRIE YOU CAN ROT FOR THINKING ME AND MY LATINA FRIENDS WANTED TO STEAL FROM THIS STORE. White privileged AF. I will be calling you're BOSS and corporate. Hopefully they care enough the way you made me and my friends feel. I never had a problem with anyone else here. Except for you, She didnt let me read her name tag but I saw somethinng with assistant under her name. If shes the assistant manager. Then good bye forever Ulta of Alameda. If you wont be taking any action towards this employee I will. I’ll be outside of those door and tell every one how they will be treated if they are NOT WHITE. We are a amazing community who is against racist bigots, as you saw the news about the sf anti protesters and Berkeley. Dont try me.

Salon

My daughter and I were at the Salon in our local store to have her tips dyed purple for her birthday. Which was on May 3rd.. her color was gone within a week!! I paid alot of money for the color! I called the store spoke to somrone who scheduled us an appt with the stylist who did her hair. Ended up having to reschedule. So we go into the salon yesterday to talk with said stylist. She was like dang girl that faded quick. Im like yea didnt even last a week! She said clors like that dont last long. Another salon employee piped in and said yea they really dont, depends on type of hair and how often you wash it. I told them her color should have lasted longer than a week!! The stylist went on to tell me that she told me that i could buy splatt and touch it up. Its already lightened. I voiced my frustrations to her. She pretty much told me i paid her to lighten it. Horrible business!! They should be up front with their customers about stuff like that! I paid alot of money to have my daughter get her hair done for her birthday. She was so excited about it now to only be heartbroken thats its completely gone! You have now lost a customer over this. She didnt even try to make it better. Pretty much in not so many words said sorry charlie! Smh!!

Discrimimation

Love the products but i encountered a Racist store. Overheard management tellng her employee to watch them. This happened when a couple african Americans walked in the stores. They ended up buying some lotion or something. So sad that they were judged as criminals as soon as they walked through the door. Management used some type of walkie talkie to communicate with employees. Thats all the evidenqce i have.

return policy for defective products

SHORT STORY:

Got a lip pencils and eye pencils made by ULTA in their store in San Marcos, CA
Got rush around my eyes and had to use medication for treatment.
I wanted to exchange that defective stuff for something else because I lost receipt.
Went to the store and find out that they need permission from headquarter for it?!
Then correspondence started: the further it went the stranger it became.
This is the ‘middle’ of our correspondence.
Still waiting for the happy end.
Not sure it can happen with this company.

--------------------- OUR CORRESPONDENCE ------------------------

My letter to ULTA:
February 13, 2011

I couldn't believe that if I used cash in your store (isn't it what every store wants when customer buying small amount of things) it means that I stuck with the product from your company which gives me rash around my eyes!!!
NOBODY told me in your store during my purchase that if your product gives allergies to the customer I STILL HAVE TO HAVE RECEIPT to EXCHANGE it for something else that won't be hazardous for my health!

I never have heard about anything close to this before. It will never come to my mind that this nonsense exists in any California store.
I should have sent you a picture of my red eyes after using your product so you will see how much damage was done.

NO ANY CAUTION on the product or in the store about it. I am sure I am not the only one.
NOT ONE WORD at the customer service counter stating that defective products are returnable ONLY WITH THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT AND ONLY IF I DID NOT PAY CASH OR WITH SOME PROMOTIONS SENT TO THE CUSTOMER.
Be honest, let you customers know that they will be loosing their rights if they use cash in you store. I didn't see this rule of yours at any visible place in the store.

I hope you can solve this small problem at your level or you have no authority, in my estimation, & I have to find satisfaction from your superiors. I didn't even ask for compensation for the allergic reaction I suffered from your defective product.
I am just amazed at the lack of concern and customer service on your part!
I still hope we can finish our communication with some sound help from you.
I can't see any reason to make customers unhappy if a problem can be solved easily. Can you?

Letter to me from ULTA:

Dear Irina,

Thank you for contacting us regarding your experience. We at ULTA are committed to our guests. We would like to make every store experience you have with us one that would make you want to return.

I apologize that this was not the case. Please know that your concerns and comments are important to us. Our return policy, which was put into effect in April of 2003, requires receipts on all returns and exchanges. It was set in place for a number of reasons. We need to verify that the product was purchased at ULTA and we need to verify the original purchase price. If the item was purchased using an ULTA card I can try and locate a copy of the receipt using the ULTA card number.

Again, I am sorry for your experience. Your constructive comments have been helpful to me in defining service issues and aiding our efforts to prevent recurrences. It is our hope that you will reconsider and allow us the opportunity to better serve you in the future.

Sincerely,

ULTA Guest Services

My Letter to ULTA on February 14 2011

Each of the products has ULTA on it. Doesn't it mean it's your product? Do you want me to send it to you so you can verify it yourself?
And tell me more about the allergy reaction people experience after using your (made by ULTA) pencils? I feel you have a lot of complains from people about your skin-damaging products. Considering our conversation I don't believe I am the only one. Is that's why you don't want to help me with YOUR product?
Now it looks like the problem is deeper then I thought. Are you hiding something behind of your "policy"? Are you trying to get rid of the people who had problems using your product?

In my previous email I asked you to transfer my case to your supervisor. Why don't you do it?
And why you hide your name under Guest Services?
Irina A

I really hope we can finish our communication soon in satisfactory manner before I have to make future complaints about your policy and products to Consumer Protection authorities and any place I can find who can be interested about your practices and health-damaging products.

And, by the way, it’s interesting idea in your letter. You just plain told me you don’t want me to return to your store! Wow!
Or maybe I just go to picket your store for a few days? It's nice to be outside in a nice San Diego weather.

-------------

I will share my future correspondence with you, guys.

return policy for defective products

It was an allergic reaction, not due to a *defect in the product. The receipt also shows how long ago the item was purchased, not just if it was their product, which they could easily surmise. Many people will buy an item, not like it once using it due to the color or application outcome and want to return an item. Not to say that this is the case here, but there are reasons for policies. The company has the receipt rule and such is life. Live and learn. Move on. And no, I am not an Ulta employee, but rather an adult woman with bigger fish to fry than recouping the cost of an eye product at great personal stress. Geez Louise...
