I would advise those who choose to spew hatred and misinformation towards an institution of higher learning to please substantiate your opinion. I can completely understand if one did not like their experience while attending the school – but that is the part that should be explained. Coming off as some sort of “hot-head” does nothing to sway serious interest of those who wish to pursue a particular on-line course of study.

In addition, for those who would post their opinions against any institution of higher learning, please ensure that you have proper sentence structure and spelling at the very least! Can you please bother to use a word processor, then cut and paste? You should have been taught this while you were an undergraduate; making these mistakes in your rebuke of an accredited doctoral-level program have caused my eye browse to raised quite considerably. Please be a better student of intelligent rebuke.

This school is not accredited in terms of APA accreditation, which means if you are seeking clinical psychology, you will not be admitted into the APA membership. I was told this week that they are working on accreditation though, but ETA is still distant in future. They are accredited for non-clinical Psy-D programs just as all other schools are, but they only have three disciplines total... barely meeting criteria for being termed University. They consist of a few classrooms in Colorado Springs (most pictures you see on their web page are of Carnival Cruiselines offices actually. They are legitimate, but utilize hired guns for professors instead of truly single owned ones. If you are studying corrections or business psych, you are OK. Clinical.. well you are wasting your time basically: Maybe this is good practice for one that APA accredits later..

You may be satisfied with the Rockies, and you are entitled to be so, but there are dozens who are not. They promise hopeful students the world to get them in the door. I know because I have their private correspondences via email. And all of my advisors quit. That is a joke for a school charging the tuition they do for a doctoral program. Any brick and mortar is going to scoff at this "university". I was "had" like dozens of others.

I later spoke with an US Navy representative and he said that these degrees are not considered legit by the US armed forces. His own daughter was appalled at the parent company's (Bridgepoint's) policies, and she opted not to work for them because of their "churn 'em and burn 'em" ethos. What does that tell you?

I recommend you go onto You Tube and look up the video by TheLogicJunkie called "College is an Evil Debt Trap." Warm bodies and government money via student loans. That sums it up well enough.

I am enrolled in the Psy.D for Organizational Leadership and have found the program to be exceptional. I was never interested in clinical work as a therapist or counselor and was clear that the online program did not offer that. I am interested in research and work with organizations as well as teaching at the college level. I have been teaching for about 18 months now. I have completed 12 classes. APA certification only relates to clinical fields. The school is accredited regionally as all reputable colleges are. It is privately owned by a for profit company, which is common and frankly I haven't had any issues with it. The curriculum is challenging. The professors are knowledgeable and dedicated and the in-residence weekends have been great learning experiences. I am impressed with the faculty and the students that I study with. I recommend University of the Rockies and have many classmates who agree.
