contract
I signed pay as you go but that same day I decided I actually would like to complete my free week pass before I decide, which I told the girl over the phone that day then 2 days later I explained the situation again and still no one said anything about me having to fill out anything to cancel. A few weeks later they called wanting their money I told them that I had explained to 2 different girls and then she said her manager indicated I can bring in a receipt from another gym and they would cancel my contract. However, 2 weeks went by and hadn't been able to get to the gym to show receipt so I got a call today asking for my money. I explained what the manager said so she said she would ask her manager again. She came back to tell me the manager did not say that and now I have to pay the fee. This is absolute nonsense especially the manager lying and no one telling me I need to fill out paperwork to cancel when I said I no longer want to do the contract at that very moment.

Not replying to email
Every time I send an email to their centre...no one gets back to me! Once I sent an email about cancelling as I was ill...no one wrote me back just cancelled my membership. The only way i knew was because the payments didn't come out...I could've went there and been totally embarrassed by not knowing it was even cancelled. I wrote a second time about possibly being reinstated as I am getting better and no reply. It's quite frustrating. The reason I don't call into the centre is because I've tried that and the front end girls just say "Ya I'm not sure" on most everything I asked.

This place is a joke
hi,
I have been with VI for about a year now, I was very impressed at first how the gym was run.. every time I would walk in I would be greeted with a hello and my name; which I found motivating. around November I started getting very sick and was not able to work out. I contacted the manager and mentioned my problem and they said just as long as i get a doctors note everything would be frozen .. and i took that as payments.....nope not so much ..since i was paying for personal training at the time the bill ,bi-weekly was and still is hefty. I was in bed and not able to work for a month between december and January. I noticed that these payments kept coming out of $360 bi-weekly.... I have spoken to them so many times and I just get passed down the line waiting and waiting for a manager to call me back ..when we finally connected i was told that freezing an account meant you still need to complete payments, if i had known this in the beginning i would not have signed up with this gym!!!!! I have not been there since mid January to work out and yet i am paying every 2 weeks. The worst part of this is my payment's should have ended in February but they are still coming out and all the front end people keep saying is i have a lot of missed payments and its taking longer. After they started harassing me about payments i asked to speak to the manager and apparently there is a new one now ..so i need to start all over again explaining the situation to this new person who wont give a crap. Long story short Thank you VI fitness for making this the toughest 3 months i have gone through in a long time. I will not say anything good about this company in the future and they really need to get there act together because the "VI" name is mudd in most communities on the island. I am so happy steve nash is open because once i finish my sessions with VI i am gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Contract dispute
Seems like a lot of people have the same problem in common. They are told something when they sign up for their contract and then when they need to put it on hold or transfer the membership it is impossible to it. When I signed up a year ago I was told I could hold my membership for up to 6 months for any reason. Now that I am sick and I have a doctors note I am being told that my payments will still come out and I will get "reimbursed" for the time I was away after my membership is completed. I do not plan on using that gym ever again the way I have been treated by the staff and management so there is no benefit to me for doing this. I am going to be going on disability and will have an extremely difficult time paying for what I need to and this gym is not willing to budge as I signed the contract. Worst gym I have ever signed up with and I will never use this gym ever again and deter anyone I know from going there. I wouldnt even recomend to my worst enemy.

Westshore VI Fitness
My Mom and I signed up for a 2 year contract in February. Originally we had wanted to sign up for the pay as you go plan, but the employee convinced us that the 2 year is way better because it is a better price and we could post it online or have a friend take over the membership if necessary.
I recently just enrolled in school full time and am working full time as well so I wanted to transfer my membership to my aunt because it would be much cheaper for me to drop in. But I was informed that no there's no way I am able to transfer my membership to anyone and they don't know why that employee would have even suggested that. My Mom and I both tried explaining the lady to the manager but she said she has no idea who that person is and doesn't recall anyone by that description. She said the only way she would be able to even maybe resolve the issue would be to have the employee admit she had made the mistake but apparently nobody recalls the employee that signed us up.

Discrimination and inequality
Christina (the regional manager) called us back and we have reached a tentative agreement regarding our billing issue. In regards to the other issues, I will say that once reported to gym staff, most were resolved in a timely manner.
Thanks for your attention to this Christina, and sorry for the rough week.
+1 for teh internets ;p

Discrimination and inequality
We called Christina, and she did not resolve anything. She read off a teleprompter by the sound of it. The resolution they found fair was to... post a message on this forum making it look like they are offering a mea culpa, when in fact they are not offering any resolution via phone.
You can locate the item in question on Youtube now.
We had mentioned the cleaning a few times in the first 2-3 months we were there, then we gave up. It sucks having to drive home sweaty because your afraid of what you might sit in in the change rooms. The gym equipment itself seemed ok to me, not too dirty, but that was never my complaint!
The reason our account "wasn't up to date" is that they had failed to charge it properly... I hope you aren't planning on charging me interest on the money you had failed to bill!
Advice: don't even try to talk to them just call your credit card company.

Discrimination and inequality
I am very sorry that you are unhappy with your service at VI Fitness. In previous conversations you had told me how you enjoyed the facility and used it regulary. There was no mention of any problems or concerns with the club until it came time to bring your account up to date.
The dusting of the club is done on a regular scheduled basis. We have heard your concern and have shortened the time frame between cleanings.
We cannot locate the item you describe in the lost and found.
I would be more than happy to work with you to resolve this. Please give me a call at 250-756-2985 and we can discuss a resolution that is fair to everyone.

Discrimination and inequality
VERY POOR SERVICE - the gym failed to properly bill us all year, and then dumped a $600 back bill on us when we attempted to cancel... Unclean gym, 1/2" of dust on all surfaces (check out the hanging lights), and we saw a male s3x toy (fleshlight) in the lost and found for 2 weeks - no joke, we took a video of it.. Gross!! Wonder what happens in the change rooms?
