I rented a VRBO (vacation rental) for 1 month @ $1200.00 including heat and hot water, March 28 - April 29, 2015. I am staying in a 2 room cottage with no internal home heating. They are only using Delonghi Space Heaters, there is (1) each dorm room style appliance (washer/dryer/fridge).

I was given a "Good Faith Agreement" which states, the tenant will pay the owners electric bill if the costs are in excess of $450.00. Tenant agrees to pay any amount of electric bill:

"The Agreement includes heat and utilities, with the following addendum: Homeowners have allocated $250 for Guest’s electric heat on top of Homeowner’s regular monthly electric bill of approximately $200. If Homeowner’s electric bill exceeds $450, Guest agrees to pay any sum greater than $450."

Note: there is no time limit on this agreement, as to when I would stop paying their electric bills.

On top of this, I called their electric company, who told me that the electric bills are already in arrears! On April 29, 2015, I was handed an electric bill for $991.00, for the previous (1) month. The electric company told me that the account has many issues and that the bills are the least of it. I was not made aware of any of these facts, when I agreed to the rental. This is deceptive practices for sure.

I agreed to the rental, because my job is ending in May, 2015 and I needed a place to stay for 1 month, until the job ended. I had no idea that (2) elderly people could be so dishonest and scheming. How do I get out of this agreement?
