Today I witness a young man being discriminated against in the pharmacy department at my local Walgreens. I was so upset about this form of disrespectful behavior, and for her to say that this was a professional reaction, was just down right outrageous. Even after she realized that none of the merchandise was missing from the tote, that the young man had just delivered to her,she didn't even apologize, because she said that she was being professional, really? Is this the kind of disrespectful people you offer employment to. If I was a lawyer, I would have given this young man my business card. Being falsely accused of stealing prescription medication, Being Publicly Slander , Being Publicly Humiliated, Compromising His Job, am sure of. I must say that the young man did keep his composure,and took the abuse. I don't think anyone should have to be treated like a low class citizen, Black or White. It's just no excuse for this type of behavior, even if you're having a bad day. I noticed when this young man came in,he had a smile on his face, but when he left, he looked as if he had just been stabbed in the heart. That is just wrong, no one should have to deal with that kind of abuse. If this is what you, as a company call being "Professional" then Walgreens is not the company I want to do business with. This location was 4747 S Sherwood Forest Blvd. Baton Rouge La.70816-Walgreen Pharmacies. I really hope this matter gets the deserved attention, because if this associate handles delivery people this way, then I know for a fact, she is doing it to the customers. I also want to add, that the manager in the pharmacy, didn't do anything about this behavior, as if it was part of their training. I did call back to the store, and talked to the store manager, who seemed very concerned about this matter. I hope between the store manager and this complaint, something is going to be done in that young man's behave. He was the innocent victim in this incident. Thank you.
