DO NOT USE THIS DOG BOARDER! Aside from my own personal experience with her, (she stole my precious dog who is part of a bonded pair) she even admitted to the police who showed up to help us get our dog back that not only are they operating that business out of their home with no business licence, but they DON'T EVEN HAVE A KENNEL LICENCE! AND! A in her area people are legally allowed to own 2 dogs unless they have a kennel licence. You can even see in her Rover.com, DogVacay.com and other places where she solicites for more business, that she already owns at least 2 dogs (plus lots of cats) so she's already legally maxed out even without any boarders. That means animal control could show up at any time and site her or even take some of them AWAY.
This is my personal experience with her: We used her as a paid boarder for two different rescue dogs (we do rescue) and although they got worms, it wasn't too bad of an experience. But then when we had a situation where we needed a foster for our bonded pair of poodle mixes, she offered to foster them on what she said had to be a very temporary because she needs the space for paid boarders.
After one week there her senior female attacked my male poodle (her dog was the agressor and did not get hurt) and our poor Lucky had deep puncture wounds from a bite on his neck that needed stitches but he aslo had a very large, red and very suspicious bump on his head that, according to the vet who had to xray it in case she'd fractured his skull, it did not appear to be from the dog fight. It wasn't an injury typical of a dog fight, and the vet asked us if we knew how the fight was broken up. That's because he suspected, therefore so do we, that Joni hit him in the head to stop the fight.
That's not all - I asked her if because of this expense and having to separate the bonded pair and having to come with another place for him to go cuz she said he couldn't come back there, when I aske dher if she would waive the $45.00 that I still owed her for boarding she flipped her lid. She even threatened me when I said if she didn't give me back the dog when we showed up that she would sick some "punks" that she knows on us who jump and rob people. That was a nice touch, so I had all this in black and white to show the police when they got there so they knew what kind of person we are all dealing with.
That threat was the reason we called the police to meet us there while we tried to get the dog back, just to keep the peace and possibly make a report if we couldn't get the dog back. Joni Walker and her mother both told police a crazy story that Lady got lost while was on vacation. In Hunington Beach. I hope for Lady's sake she is lying. Anyway, that's what my experience was with them. This illegal operation needs to be shut down. They stole my dog because even though they had her for only 3 weeks and she's part of a bonded pair, Joni said her mother was getting attached to her messaged me wanting to adopt her but we couldn't approve them, in large part because when we were there to pick up our injured male after the dog fight she spanked her senior female right in front of us. I wish I would have taken Lady too that day, but I had no other place for her to go, and unlike these people we play by the rules, I don't run a business out of my home. All I do is volunteer and I have a network of fosters I use, but we didn't have a foster and we're only allowed to own 3 dogs in our area, that's why we needed a foster for these two dogs. Three weeks later I had a home for Lady and Lucky (the bonded pair) that's why I wanted to pick her up, and that's when they ruined their chances of having a wonderful home together, by stealing my her.
There is nothing I can do because they claimed to have lost her and since posting this on Facebook have been contacted by a few other people who said she's done the same thing to them. This is the short link (just copy and paste it your web browser) to the Facebook post: fb.me/6istN4VOP
They were already over their legal limit before stealing my dog so I don't know whey they go around stealing dogs from rescues and unsuspecting boarders, unless they are selling them. Whatever they're doing, whatever the reason, beware of this illegal dog boarding operation, they've stolen so many people's dogs, they'll probably steal your dog too. Don't board your dog with them, or it might the last you ever see of your dog.
