Wells Fargo not releasing insurance funds
I had a pipe leak and my insurance company paid 18,000 to restore the damages to my house. The check was made out to Myself AND Wells Fargo, so I took it to the local WF bank in town to deposit it. They would not take it and said I had to mail it in after one hour of sitting with the gentleman while he talked to someone in the property loss department. This did not sit right with me so the next day I took it to another Wells Fargo. They at least took the check and deposited it into an escrow fund so I could get my construction started.
I turned in all their necessary forms ( Contractors W9, Completion of work for floors, Paid in Full from flooring company, insurance estimate) This began mid June 2018. By June 29, 2018 I had submitted all of the completed paperwork and paid nearly $10,000 out of my own pocket on credit to get the floors put down. It is not July 11, 2018 and I still have not received a penny of reimbursement from my money, sent to me by my insurance company, to repair my house. I now have a contractor coming tomorrow and he wants a $5000.00 deposit to get started on the rest of the drywall, baseboard, paint repairs and Wells Fargo still will not release the money. This morning they told me they wanted a copy of the insurance adjusters worksheet which I GAVE them on June 29th. When I produced the proof of the email I sent with the adjusters worksheet, they came up with a new excuse that they wanted it directly from the insurance company. REALLY, WELLS FARGO? After much discussion with them, I still do not have my check or a call back that was promised.
I finally went to a Google search and found this forum. IT IS CLEAR TO ME THAT WELLS FARGO IS DOING ANOTHER SCAM !! THEY HOLD ON TO PEOPLES INSURANCE CHECKS AND COLLECT MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF INTEREST WHILE MAKING PEOPLE JUMP THROUGH HOOPS WHO HAVE BEEN DEVASTATED BY A LOSS. IMAGING THE INTEREST THEY ARE MAKING ON THESE INSURANCE CHECKS THEY ARE HOLDING WHILE PEOPLE TRY TO FIX THEIR HOME BY GOING INTO CREDIT CARD DEBT !

Wells Fargo stalls insurance payouts
Wells Fargo has barriers and roadblocks set up to keep you from getting your property loss insurance money. I have been fighting with them since September 2017. It’s now July 2018. Their latest scam is to hold my insurance payout money until I prove that I am 50% complete, so they can release another measly pay out. Two weeks ago, my contractor assured me I WAS 50% complete. I had Wells Fargo send someone over to “inspect“ to approve 50% completion. The guy that showed up, OMG, he had all have his upper and lower teeth missing, he smelled of urine, and I could barely understand his English. He said at one time he worked on framing houses but he had never done “one of these percent complete inspections before.” I contacted Wells Fargo immediately and voiced my concern. They did not give a care. They know it’s a scam and is there as simply another roadblock / barrier put up to keep us from getting our money. I tried to login to my Wells Fargo insurance claim account webpage, and it’s sent me on a wild goose chase not recognizing my user name / password, all the while the headlines on their website reads, “claiming your insurance funds just got easier.” Lol I documented everything and will be completing to the government. Wells Fargo has already been caught setting up fake accounts, and setting up fake car insurance and has been fined millions by the government. Very very dirty company. The property loss insurance is yet another scam they will be in front of Senate hearings in the not too distant future, and all of us here will have the evidence to show once we are called to testify.

Payments
I’ve been told every single day a new lie as to why the first payment can’t be mailed. Today’s lie is my zip code is not acceptable to FedEx but they just sent me a package via Fedex two days ago but now that it’s time to send a check now FedEx don’t recognize it

WELLS FARGO HOLDING CHECK
1. Make sure to call the property loss department every single day.
2. This is the routine. "2 to 3 minute hold." "5-7 business days for everything."
3. Make sure to take notes of every call and record every call. Write down names of everyone you talk to.
4. Escalate this quickly. Get ahold of Wells Fargo executive team and voice all concerns.
5. Call this # 704-743-6968. This is the office personnel of the president of Wells Fargo. Ask to speak to Tim Sloan or John Stumpf.
6. As for the contractor you choose, Wells Fargo has this figured out. They are required to sign a Lien Waiver, the contractor will have no say so on whether they get paid or not.
7. Florence S.C. is the location of the property loss department and just so you know, they are a 3rd party company.
8. If you receive a check, of you're own money I may add, do not sign it. Make sure the contractor signs it first and ask for their ID. Then you sign it and cash it, DO NOT DEPOSIT THE CHECK! Get the cash and give the contractor only partial payment in the form of a cashiers check or money order and keep the stub. Hold on to the other portion of the cash because you will never know if you will receive more funds.
As another option. Wells Fargo wants to be the additional payee, of course. It may be in you're best interest to take out an additional home insurance policy in your name ONLY and use the other insurance company when filing a claim! Make sure to have the funds directly deposited into your bank account and avoid dealing with Wells Fargo all together. Home insurance is fairly reasonable in pricing anyway so all you need is to have at least one policy with wells fargo's name on it so that they don't charge you extra for them providing their own insurance.
This is a nightmare for anyone that has dealt with Wells Fargo. Good Luck! Don't be afraid of them and fight. Wells Fargo's staff is trained for all this. Trained to keep you from making progress in fixing your home.

WELLSFARGO SCAM - HOLDING MONEY
Received insurance check endorsed to me and Wellsfargo. Wellsfargo would not deposit check in branch. Only option was to send it in. I have paid over $30,000 out of pocket and had to borrow money from family members to start repairing house after Hurricane Harvey. I run a business out of a detached shop on property so my livelihood relies on having a liveable home. Wellsfargo opened up an escrow account is release a draw which did not cover what I have paid out of pocket. They required an inspection to verify home is 70% completed and promised to release the rest of the funds which they did not. They required me to get a notarized affidavit, send in receipts etc and still will not release funds. I did not see my 2 daughters and wife for over 3 months while I worked on the house and now we won't have a kitchen for Christmas. They are holding money to make interest, complete scam. Wrote Houston news agency and they responded and might cover story. People need to know about this scam and what Hurricane Harvey flood victims are going through. Wellsfargo is unethical and immoral. Please voice your story on every social media channel and share with your local news agencies. They will continue to get away with this if we don't share our stories of Wellsfargo corruption.

Wells Fargo = LIARS
Where to begin... Called Wells Fargo when I learned how much money I would be receiving due to the flooding from Harvey. Spoke to a representative and she told me I could mail in my paperwork OR go to to any Wells Fargo Branch to complete it. THAT WAS A LIE. Went to the branch and found out I had to snail mail the check or overnight it to Wells Fargo Property Loss Department. Was told to wait two days to see if an "exception" would be approved for me to endorse the check at the branch... THAT WAS A LIE. I went back to the branch to ask one more time, I was told that I would received $40,000.00 of my check when it was approved. THAT WAS A LIE. I was not approved, nor would I be because the amount of the check. I've sent in document after document to try and get some of my funds released. I've been put on hold for 40 minutes at a time, told to call back over and over. Who has time to be calling these people when we work to pay our mortgage!!!! Every time I call, it's a different excuse or LIE as to why my funds have not been released. I really believe that Wells Fargo is holding my funds in order for me to run out of money completely so I can't afford my mortgage and then they will take my home, insurance funds, and resale my home for a profit. I've paid close to $20,000 put of pocket for my repairs and the Wells Fargo doesn't give a shit. They are the worst bank in HISTORY. They have been on the news for opening fake bank accounts (twice), and the other time for making homeowners carry EXTRA flood insurance at their interest. All I want is MY money so that I can go back home!!! These people are something else.... I will never have another mortgage in my life. Ever. I am debt free except the house, and now I want to be rid of that debt too.

Holding insurance claim funds
Gosh I thought my insurance claim funds had been held up for a long time (5 months) until I read some of these other complaints.
Back in January 2017, my upstairs toilet wax ring leaked on my downstairs ceiling and floor. I filed with my insurance company and had to fight with them 4 months to get a settlement. Now I am having to fight with Wells Fargo. It has been hell trying to get the money to repair my home. I just had my second inspection and if I don’t get my funds released wIthin 10 days I guess I will get an attorney also.

Wells Fargo Property Loss division
Had an insurance claim with met life and they were great. $112,000 to repair our home. Wells Fargo Property Loss department has held funds for so long I had to borrow over $30,000 to finish our project . It's been months and house is done and everyone has been paid(except me), and Wells Fargo is still holing on to money. Even though they have all the paper work and a final inspection on file. If I failed to pay them on time, I would be assessed fees. Meanwhile I still pay my mortgage on time on a house that is in livable. I have spent hours upon hours dealing with this department and have spent a small fortune on faxes and overnighted mail. Only to hit new roadblocks every time I try to get reimbursed with " My" money. I will be calling my attorney general and insurance commissioner. They obviously don't care about their borrowers, they just sit on the money as long as they can. I can't even imagine how much they make at times right now with all the disasters happening. WELLS FARGO IS A JOKE AND ILL NEVER DO BUISNESS WITH THEN AGAIN IF I CAN HELP IT. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES. If you are an employee of this department you should be ashamed also. How dare you prey on people in time of crisis. BS.

Wells Fargo Home Mortgage won't endorse check
My insurance company made the check for damages out to myself (homeowner) and Wells Fargo. They won't endorse it over to me because they want to put in escrow until work is done. I CAN'T HAVE ANY WORK DONE BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY FOR IT. Wells Fargo has it!!! Tried to get away from them as a Mortgage company years ago but our Mortgage was sold back to them. They are a terrible bank to deal with.

Phone response
After going through 3 different representatives, I was left on hold for around 10 minutes until it just disconnected me. I think that's just horrible customer service. This is on top of not being told last week that it would take 2-3 business days to get my signed check back. The representative I spoke with that told me to overnight the check led me to believe that I'd have the check signed and overnight right back to me. I'm still unclear why this had to even happen in the first place. My insurance makes a check out to me for property damage and includes Wells Fargo's name on it? Thanks to Wells Fargo for making this situation even more unpleasant and a bigger headache for me.

WELLS FARGO IS HOLDING FUNDS
I don't even know where to start with this.... I am so upset that it is hard to have a clear thought. Back in May of 2017 which we are now going into September, our water heater broke and flooded into the home migrating under the tile of my laundry room and into one of the bedrooms causing everything in that room to be damaged. We called our insurance company which is USAA. They said they were going to send a water midigation company which somehow wires got crossed and no one came out so I called back 2 hours later and then the company called me and came out the next day. The company was SERVICE MASTER ALL PHASE RECONSTRUCTION out of El Cajon, San Diego. They had to pull the AC unit out in order to begin the drying proccess due to the fact that the water heater and AC unit are housed in the same area in the garage. They did that and proceeded to cut the walls and dry everything up. This took about a week. No AC and 115 degree heat so we had to leave the property. USAA sent $$ via direct deposit right away. After the drying proccess was complete, SERVICE MASTERS asked us if we wanted to utilize their services to complete the reconstruction. We of corse wanted to use their services and Sub Contractors to finish the job. This is where the breakdown began. With 115 degree heat in the Imperial valley and young children and mother who has early onset Alzheimer's (I made the decision 3 years ago to move her in with me weather than put her in a home) we needed to get the AC going so that we could establish some sort of "normalcy". At that point the Field Manager of SERVICE MASTERS ALL PHASE RECONSTRUCTION, informed us that he would not move forward with installing the AC until we signed a contract releasing them from any liability due to any issues concearning their Sub Contractors or the work performance and that any checks issued by our insurance for the work done would be issued straight to them without our signature. I didn't want to sign it . When the field manager informed my husband that they weren't going to install it without the signature, he reluctantly signed it, we needed the AC back on because at this point we were living in our trailer in the driveway and the kids had school etc. BIG MISTAKE!!! The company that they had come out to reinstall and he unit neglected to install the drain pipe for the AC, therefore water was everywhere again!! We called right SERVICE MASTERS OF EL CAJON field manager right away and because he lives just a couple of blocks away, he was able to get here quickly with a high powered drying fan. It was at that point (there were a few other questionable incidents as well) that we decided we better not go with them. We just wanted it done right and accurately. We informed our insurance company that we would not be using SERVICE MASTERS to complete the reconstruction. They mailed us a check which we took in to have informed by WELLS FARGO. It was then that we were informed that there was a process and that we would have to call the property loss decision of WELLS FARGO. We did, they said it takes time and that we needed to send in all this paperwork, send it in wait for an approval and blah blah blah. At this point we had to close our walls in the bedroom and seal the homes in the laundry room because hot air was coming in and cool air was going out cause my electric bill to skyrocket and bugs were coming into the home. We had no choice but no o use the money for our mortgage payment to to start the proccess thinking for sure it would be solved before 30 days. We ended up finishing the work ourselves and actually did a great job, but the cost was well over $7000. Here we are almost four months later and WELLS FARGO still has not released the funds. I have not been able to make my house payment and am way behind on several other things now too due to WELLS FARGO holding the funds and not sending a contractor to sign off on the job despite the many many calls that I have made. As a matter of fact, someone was supposed to call me before 9am. Our time today which is 12p their time, no call, no nothing. I received a letter yesterday stating that my property now is in Forclosure. I have no idea what to do. I can't believe that WELLS FARGO is doing this. How is this legal? If anyone has any info. For me, please email me @ [email protected]

Offering no realiatic help
We flooded in August 2016. After attempting to ask for financial help for months, we did not pay our mortgage and were not really advised to do so. It turned out to be a technicality but it was never made clear. We finally borrowed some money and saved our home for the time being but everything is piling up again and we no longer have any options.
Regardless, we are still not finished and our contractor has been arrested and we cannot get the contract with them dissolved in order to move forward. We also can not get any financial help in order to keep our mortgage current and to fight our losses from the contractor.
We have spoken to many people throughout this extremely large and poorly run bank that does not communicate from dept to dept. and we have had zero luck.
Now last week we found out that our mold certificate is useless so if they want my property s badly, they basically have to start all over.
This is family property and we want to stay here but this is a company that doesn't understand that an act of God can cost so much for a single income family.

Wells Fargo Refuses to Release Check to Roofers
After our house was damaged by hurricane Matthew in October 2016. We reached out to our insurance company Tower Hill, who was quick to send out an inspector. After receiving the report from their inspector is was approved to have our whole roof replaced. We were instructed to get three estimates, which we did. Once the roofing company was chosen, Tower Hill sent the check in In February 2017 for the repairs in our name and Wells Fargo’s name. We were instructed to forward the check to Wells Fargo and that they would release the check once al work was done and inspected. Preferred Roofing and we faxed to Wells Fargo prior to the work beginning on April 26, 2017, all signed paper work. Work on the roof was completed on April 28, 2017. City of Jacksonville completed their inspection on May2, 2017. And as of today June 12, 2017 Wells Fargo has not released payment and the roofing company is threating to put a lien on our house!

Wells Fargo Property Loss
Has anyone successfully sued Wells Fargo Property Loss Division? I am in Massachusetts and we've had a total loss with the checks held up for 4 years. We started reconstruction and they refused to pay. We have been paying the mortgage all along for a hole in the ground. Now Wells Fargo are not happy that we haven't rebuilt because why? They are still holding the money! This has caused incredible stress on my wife and it is literally killing her. I have hired/talked to attorneys but it generally ends up costing us thousands and they never do anything for us. HELP!

No funds released
After dealing with Wells Fargo for an entire month and faxing in all requested documents as one of the employees confirmed they received, i could call on a certain day to see what funds would be released for an insurance claim. I called that day and guess what another story out of the inexperienced telephone people. Certain documents weren't on file even though they see one of their employees noted they received everything. Oh no big deal it will just take a couple more days in order for us to receive a fax and a couple more days in order for us to process the piece of paper that they already have. I was transferred to a resolution specialist who had no clue what she was talking about. Seems no one has to have an education to work for a mortgage company these days. No one cared that more than 5 of their staff that i spoke with in a months period had all confirmed documents but it is my fault? I will be writing a complaint about Wells Fargo on every single site for their lack of communication, whats the point of having a phone number if you aren't going to pick up the phone and use it?

Forclosure after flood
Property was affected by the flood that occurred back in
May 2016 causing a headship and loss of the household
I contacted the insurance in order to start a claim and seek assistance which it took over a month before I heard from them to then get a decline claim as the proper is not located in a flood zone , contacted FEMA who stated I need to seek help from the Disaster Team at Wells Fargo who set me up with a preservation specialist Mr. Tyler
Underwood who were supposed to guide me trough this
Situation somehow after leaving messages and ask for him to return my calls after dealing with the property and the repairs and talking with the Wells Fargo people from different departments now they are telling me that the property is under foreclosure without notifying me without offering any other options as short sale , remortization , to even consider the depreciation of the property after the flood occurred now all I can understand that this officer set me up to foreclosure instead assisting me

Wells Fargo withholding insurance funds due to ineptitude!
Wells Fargo Insurance Claim Check department is the most inept group of clueless people that must walk the face of this Earth. They are more than useless at helping the homeowner get the correct paperwork to them - and they are SOOO pedantic about every tiny detail, even if the information is correct, but would require them to turn a page! The do not tell you that your documents are discrepant until you request a payment that could be months after submitting them. They do not care one bit that you may be without a home or have little children that are disrupted and that their prompt service could make such a traumatic experience such as losing half your house to a fallen tree - within 3 feet of a 3 and 9 year old - a somewhat less devastating experience. Each call to them usually takes an hour or longer and normally requires two to three managerial escalations to reach someone that has somewhat of a clue on how to help you. I am horrified that my mortgage is with them and for this reason alone I am considering refinance with another bank. I never want to have to experience this stress again. They win the prize of WORST customer service E.V.E.R.!!!

Wells Fargo Holds Escrow Money Hostage
I am trying to sell my house "as is" as a result of the flood in March 2016. I have a closing date of 12/30/16 but Wells Fargo will not transfer the much needed $25,666.00 from my restricted escrow account where the remaining insurance money is to close the deal. I am about to go to foreclosure if I don't sell this house but they told me I had to come up with the difference of the unpaid balance then they will mail me the remaining insurance money. If i had the money to close I would do it but I don't. Wells Fargo has been holding my money for over 8 months now and refuses to help me, they said it is not their policy. I have done everything I can think of doing, blasting them on twitter, calling every department I can think of for months, going into the branch and having their people call for me. Wells Fargo will not release the funds to the Wells Fargo pay off department so I can close this deal.

fighting for 3 1/2 years
We lost our home in a tornado. We did everything we were asked to do after we recieved the insurance check. Unforunately we got a bad contractor and it had to go into litigation. Wells Fargo froze the rest of the funds that were to go into the house till the dispute got settled. We begged them to help us fight the contractor. They didnt want to help. We begged them to release the rest of the money so we could finish our home and get back into it, they refused. Then we recieved a threating letter from them saying if we didnt repair things on our house and it caused more damages, we would be held liable! We lost our home owners insurance because of the condition of our home and they forced their insurance on us at what the house would have been valued at had it been finished. Its been 3 1/2 years now. We settled the law suit and are ready to get the house finished but now we are battling with them once again to release the froze funds. We are tired!
