Purchased Cabrio HE Whirlpool Washer in 2011. Everything was fine for a few months. Then found the binding on a small bathroom rug one quarter unstitched. Began noticing that small load on delicate cycle revealed parts of laundry dry following end of cycle. Also noticed many episodes of soap streaks and I was very careful to use proper detergent for HE and in small amounts. I felt that not enough water was being dispensed to actually clean the clothes. The final straw was the severe snagging of several pieces of clothes, such as towels, knit shirts, and T shirts. The most recent towel episodes produced over 150 snags on expensive towels that my husband and I had to personally cut with scissors. Also found that several sections of the binding on the towels were unstitched. That was the last straw! The last tech declared the machine unrepairable and I absolutely detest HE washers! I had 2 agitator washers for 20 years each, the last being a large capacity Kitchen Aid. I loved that machine and found the dual agitator to be efficient, gentle and cost effective because I could adjust the wash time and rinse time with analog controls to complete many loads in 20 minutes. I also hate the HE spin speeds which I believe ruin clothes faster and promote serious wrinkling. I wish I could find a 4.5 cu ft agitator washer to last me the ret of my life. I used to think that Whirlpool was the best. However, I fear that the government regulations from the EPA and the desire to be cost effective has superseded that desire to please customers. Whatever is coming off the assembly line is very poor quality. I cannot believe that there are so many good reviews. Perhaps I got a lemon, but it soured me on HE machines forever. I believe that impellers and plate agitators can never wash properly because of twisting the clothes in a low level of water. Besides, one cannot change the cycle during a load and I find 55 minute loads anything but being able to conserve energy. I never had even One piece of fabric ruined by an agitator machine. And, there were small baskets for small delicate items that did not need much time to clean. I would be afraid to place my shower curtain in a Cabrio but I had no trouble in the agitator washer. Whirlpool is supposed to contact me with some kind of customer resolution. Will await their answer. Buyer Beware!!!

I bought a front loader washer model wfw9151yw I got the washer may 31 2013 everytime I wash sheets they go in a ball the 1nd services guy came and told me not to wash sheets in a fronrt loader the 2nd services guy moved the front of the machine up about 1 in than it was not cleaning the wash I have to re wash every 2 or 3 times before it is clean the 3nd services guy put water in the machine and saided call his boss next day gilbert ebertz [email protected]

Bearings have failed 3x in 3 years. Whirlpool head office very indifferent to our case; does not believe they should stand behind product. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS.
