I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator this week from PC Richards store in Phila., Pa. The delivery was a nightmare. My son and I watched from the frontdoor - tractor trailer pulled up and two young guys got out - looked like it was their first day on the job. They uncrated the fridge on the truck then slid it off, where it crashed on the cement and fell apart. Dented on all sides and a big, sharp piece of metal detached from the bottom. One guy spoke no English, and the other yelled in broken English that they didn't break it, it was already damaged. He called his warehouse and handed me the cell phone. The guy starts yelling that they're sorry and will deliver a new one tomorrow. I sent them away with the fridge, and went over to Sears and bought a Kenmore with warranty, five years, and delivery and removal for same price, and they gave me a $115 gift card. PC Richards was $1250 with ten year warranty (which is suspicious), delivery, install and removal. Sears was $2.00 less, plus the gift card. I left Sears and went directly to PC Richards. Told first employee I saw that I wanted a refund. He completely ignored me. Asked him if I should see the salesman, and he said that'd be best. Went over to Rob, salesman who'd sold me the fridge. Rob brought over the manager who screamed at me that I refused to let them "help me"; they wanted to make good, they'll give me a discount, they'll give me a new fridge, etc. etc. I told the manager I didn't receive anything , wasn't obligated to purchase anything, wanted to cancel and wanted a refund. He said he couldn't do it, and I should return tomorrow. I said, okay, I'll call the credit card company and they'll give me the refund. Then he reluctantly issued the refund, and yelled that I made a big mistake buying from Sears, they'll be out of business within a year, then what'll I do. Called me a miserable woman and difficult customer. UNBELIEVABLE EXPERIENCE !!! Said mistakes happen and I'm unforgiving. Don't buy from this company - they're pushy and they lie like rugs - horrible management and the worst delivery service. I'm glad the fridge fell off the truck and broke, since it was probably a total piece of crap, just like PC Richards & Sons.
