My family rented a home from Mr. King in 2012. I just signed another lease for two more years. We have had no problems other than the air conditioner went out. Mr. King brought window units over because the air wasn't going to be fixed for two days. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a place to live. His homes stay rented because he keeps the house maintained and is always making sure everything is going well for us. He is by far the best landlord we have ever had.

Mr. King asked me to write a review to this website since alot of untrue things were posted about him. I have rented from Mr. King going on my 4th year. He has been an outstanding landlord. First of all after looking and looking for a place to live I finally saw Mr. King's house. The house was in excellent condition and was extremely clean unlike most that I looked at. I have only had one issue since I have been here and that was the stove quit working. Mr. King was 4 hours away taking care of his Mother who was in the hospital. I told him that we would manage until he could get back to Charlotte. When I got home from work the next day Mr. King was in my driveway with a brand new stove. He told me I couldn't let you go without a stove and sorry that I couldn't have gotten it for you earlier.

He has also been very understanding when I was in the hospital myself and couldn't work. I got behind on my rent and he was very understanding and told me not to worry about it but to focus on getting better. I teared up when he said this as the apartment always was ready to evict you after 3 days of being late. My family is very happy here and I would highly recommend him to anyone I know.

I also like the fact that he doesn't constantly raise the rent. The house next door to me is also a rental and they moved because of the constant rent increase. Everytime we write a new lease he tells me that he will be keeping the rate the same as he is glad to have a good person in his home. I feel appreciated living here rather than just another tenant at the apartment complex. If you are looking for a place to live then you should rent from him. He rarely has openings as I was trying to help a colleague at work find a place but that speaks volumes that people move in and stay long term.

I was a tenant of Mr. King's from 2013-2014. We agreed to a date of rent payment through a lease. I placed a security deposit of one month's rent. $1000.

Almost immediately he began demanding rent on the first of the month which was earlier than we agreed. He demanded cash as well. After my lease was up, I moved to another part of our city. Now he is refusing to return my security deposit and is coming up with all kinds of excuses.

He used non licensed contractors to make repairs to my home and many of the repairs he performed himself. At times, I felt unsafe especially with his electrical skills.

He is currently a school teacher in The Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. An investigation into King's history shows that he was a school teacher in Charleston SC and was terminated for going "crazy". After an investigation here in NC, I have found the he has attempted the same case. He is attempting to gain disability through fraudulent doctors statements just as he did in Charleston. He is also transporting illegal narcotics to SC through a local Charlotte Doctor who owns a pain clinic, He uses his NC state insurance card to buy the drugs cheap then sells them to his family members all over SC.

He has frequently called The NC DSS on parents who have challenged him in the classroom. If you are a parent and have had DSS visit you, I suggest you hire an attorney or contact law enforcement to report this.

He has defrauded his parents in the amount of $25,000 on back taxes and was just caught in SC for fraud involving a fraudulent tax scheme to avoid higher property taxes.
