Experienced at Woodlands checkpoint from JB to Singapore yesterday 21st March 2023 (around 16:10pm).
Me and the car ahead were stuck at the checkpoint counter for over 15 minutes because I guess it was a shift change or something (they didn't mention it). But the customs officers put cone block on the back of my car, so we were stuck between the counter gantry and the driveway.
After 15 minutes, I observed that the other counters were empty, but we were still stuck. I slid down the car window and got the officer to let me go to another counter and they (two staff) just walked up to my car, chatted to each other, and removed the cone block.
I don't know if this is a standard/normal process at Singapore customs, drives need to treat like this way for a shift change or doing something? If stuck between the counter gantries and driveway more than a certain minutes, why don't they allow the driver to move to another counters? I don't see the efficiency of the customs process, only the illogicality.
I hope Singapore can improve this and don't let incidents like this happen again, it means the customs checkpoint is the gate of the country, it would be a shame if people from other countries complain unless you tell me it is logical and unchangeable.

On this morning about 6:30am, we are approaching Woodlands checkpoint from Johor towards Singapore on vehicle lane. We have been queuing at that counter for a long time, the car in front has been passing by for a long time, but the railing is not open. After that, the railing was opened, we arrived in front of the counter, saw the officer (Shafit) was sleeping, we tried to wake him up, and knocked on the counter table, finally he woke up. We handed in four passports, and after he called one person, he continued to doze off, and then called the next one, & repeat again... From there, it took us at least 15 minutes to finish.

This afternoon when I was coming back from JB, I encountered 2 pompous lady custom officers. I'm always ready to clear the custom fast, so I put my coins in a separate purse and dumped it into my big bag together with all my metal items that can trigger an alarm while crossing the metal detector door. An Indian lady officer used her detector to sweep me all over and after that I rushed to collect my big bag that just came out from the X-ray machine. The Indian lady came after me and spoke unhappily that she having finished with me. She wanted me to put my wallet into the blue tray and pass through the X-ray machine. She wants to play dogmatic with me so that I know her existence and respect her as a pompous officer. Her the other Chinese lady partner prompt her to send me into the office.

Inside the office, the Indian male officer asks me what happen. I told him to check with those two ladies. Then a Chinese male officer asks me why I raise my voice. I told him I'm angry because being held back here is a waste of my time. He told me it is for an open check. While the guy went through my big bag, I noticed the two ladies were kept looking into the office. I think they are hoping that I will strip for them to see so that they have a case but I disappointed them.

PAP government can't simply match a job for people who don't have the trait. This is a first line job. A place to show the world that Singapore knows what is human right and respect for elderly. Must deployed people that are tactful and not any Ah Soh can work!

On 26July2019 about 7.20 am I’m approaching Woodlands checkpoint from Johor towards Singapore on motorcycle lane. Notice the biometric lane and normal motorcycle lane with biometric facility at main building is empty. However the officer (Aetos Personal) detour (block) the entry and ask motorist to queue at the manual lane on old Woodlands Checkpoint (which use by lorry). The queue at manual lane is high causing more than 1 hour to clear. Question here are the authorities going backward instead of encourage using automated lane forcing public to use manual lane. Furthermore the manual lane does not operate not even 90% of the lane. Out of 10, 3 to 4 lane close. Also suggested the relevant authorities to monitor their contractor (Aetos) when performing the job. Notice some of them just standing 2 to 3 person talking each other instead of helping to monitor and ease congestion. Hope can improve the service

I was so upset that we had been blocked by one of the lorry in the car lane and end up having stuck for an hour today 28/9/12 @ roughly 7pm. For your information, the car lane was empty in front of the lorry. Finally, we managed to get through but the police that control the traffic does not let us turn and ask us to go straight which led to Woodlands centre. As some of the cars did illegal u-turn but We did not do an illegal u-turn to get our way here. Please look into this matter and help the car lane and not the lorry lane. Thank you.

There's tons and thousands ppls crossing from MY-SG-MY everyday, shouldn't ICA ensure smoothness so that the jammed can be lessen.
What is the purpose of having eIACS system when it's always faulty during peak hours?
Singapore always project to be such advance and effective country, then why isn't this be look into?
